Johns Hopkins sophomore midfielder Abby Birk has been named the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division III National Offensive Player of the Week. Birk earned Centennial Conference Offensive Player of the Week honors earlier this week.
Birk recorded five points last week for the No. 6 Johns Hopkins Blue Jays. On Wednesday, she recorded an assist in Hopkins' 6-1 win over Gettsyburg College. Then on Saturday, she scored both goals in the Blue Jays' 2-1 win over No. 7 Franklin & Marshall College. The win secured the Centennial Conference regular-season title and first seed in the upcoming conference tournament.
