OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Bennett Cord, Washington College
Junior, Attack, Gaithersburg, MD / Gaithersburg HS

Cord scored seven goals and assisted on four others in a 2-0 week for the Shoremen. He had three goals and three assists in a 13-5 win vs. Elizabethtown and added four goals with one helper in the 20-1 triumph vs. Wesley. His seven goals on the week came on 14 shots (50 percent)


DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Chip Murray, Dickinson
Senior, F/O, New Canaan, CT / New Canaan HS

Murray won 17-of-26 face-offs (65.4 percent) and controlled 16 ground balls as the Red Devils toppled #10 Roanoke.

 

AROUND THE CONFERENCE

 

Dickinson's 14-9 victory at Roanoke was the 100th career victory at the school for coach Dave Webster. He has 165 wins overall, including stints at Marymount and Franklin & Marshall.

 

Haverford senior M Phillip Valliant (Grasonville, MD / St. Andrews) tallied a career best eight goals in the Fords' 16-9 win against Skidmore. Classmate Zack Cohen (Mountain Lakes, NJ / Mountain Lakes) handed out five assists.

 

McDaniel has played two multiple-overtime games in its first six starts after a 12-11 double-OT win against York.

 

Washington College scored 20 goals in a game for the first time since 2008 in its 20-1 triumph over Wesley.

 

Gettysburg has played back-to-back games against top-3 teams, falling to #1 Salisbury and #3 Cortland.
