Johns Hopkins men's soccer junior Achim Younker has been named the Centennial Conference Offensive Player of the Week it was announced Monday afternoon. This is his second weekly conference honor.
Younker the Blue Jays to a 2-0 week with two goals and three assists. He scored a pair of goals, including the game-winner, in the 4-0 win at Neumann on Tuesday. Younker then handed out a career-best three assists in the 4-1 win versus 16th-ranked Franklin & Marshall - the most by a Blue Jay since 2001. His three assists are also one shy of both the Johns Hopkins and Centennial Conference record.
Younker paces Hopkins in points (12) and is tied for the team lead in goals (4) and assists (4).
Dickinson sophomore Tayler Eynon (Lancaster, Pa./Lancaster Country Day) was named the Centennial Conference Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.
Eynon moved from the midfield into an outside back position and helped the Red Devils post a 2-0 shutout over Gettysburg College to move into first place in the conference standings.
Eynon also played a key role on the offensive end, serving a pair of well-placed corners to tally assists on both Red Devil goals.
