LANCASTER, Pa. - Franklin & Marshall's Jim Connolly was named the Centennial Conference (CC) Offensive Player of the Week for men's soccer, announced by the league office on Tuesday. The honor was the first of the season for the Diplomats and the first of Connolly's career.
Connolly (Wilmington, Del. / Charter School of Wilmington) started out 2018 strong with a goal and three assists during the Diplomats' 2-0 opening week. The senior forward tallied the 59th-minute game-winner against LVC in a 3-2 victory on Saturday and followed with a two-assist effort in the team's 2-0 blanking of Whitworth on Monday evening.
LANCASTER, PA – Johns Hopkins men's soccer sophomore Xander LeFevre has been named the Centennial Conference Defensive Player of the Week it was announced Tuesday. This is the first career weekly honor for the sophomore goalie.
LeFevre backstopped the Blue Jays to a pair of wins at the Mary Washington Soccer Classic. His only goal allowed came on a penalty kick in a 2-1 win against Hamden-Sydney on Friday afternoon. The next day, LeFevre made a pair of saves in earning his first career shutout in the 2-0 win over North Carolina Wesleyan.
