Ursinus' Irondi Leads All-Centennial Women's Basketball Team

Irondi named Player of the Year, becomes just third four-time first-team all-star in CC history

LANCASTER, Pa. -- Ursinus' Chinwe Irondi was named Player of the Year and became just the third player in conference history to earn All-Centennial first team honors four times to lead the 2025 All-Centennial Women's Basketball Team. Gettysburg's Shinya Lee, Muhlenberg's Veronica Dawson and the McDaniel coaching staff also collected major awards.

Irondi secured Player of the Year honors following another superb season for the Bears. The senior forward is just the third player in CC history to be a four-time first-teamer along with Swarthmore's Heather Kile (1999-02) and Kathryn Stockbower (2008-11). She is also only the third player in conference history to win both Rookie of the Year and Player of the Year in a career, alongside Gettysburg's Emily Gibbons and Emma Dorshimer. Irondi averaged a double-double across 26 games this season, leading the Centennial in scoring (20.2 ppg), rebounding (10.0 rpg) and field goal percentage (60.9%). Irondi helped the Bears to the CC postseason for the second year in a row and a third-place finish in the regular season.

Lee, a dynamic senior foward for the CC-champion Bullets, was named Defensive Player of the Year and also secured a spot on the All-Centennial first team. Lee is the first Gettysburg player to receive the conference's top defender award in its seven-year history. She has posted averages of 10.1 points, 9.8 rebounds. 2.9 blocks and 1.4 steals per game while shooting 52.2% from the floor through 27 games this season. Her 2.9 blocks per game easily leads the CC while her 9.8 rebounds ranks second, behind only Irondi.

Dawson, a freshman forward for the Mules, was named Rookie of the Year, to become the first Muhlenberg player to win the award in its 12 years of existence. Dawson averaged 11.0 points, 6.3 rebounds, 1.4 assists, 0.9 blocks and 0.8 steals per game for the Mules during her inaugural campaign.

The McDaniel coaching staff was honored by its peers as Coaching Staff of the Year. Head coach Christin Gowan and assistants Lauren Godde and Maggie Berigan led the Green Terror to their first CC playoff appearance since 2026 with a 17-9 overall record and 8-6 mark in conference play.

Johns Hopkins leads the conference with 28 first-team All-Centennial honorees since 1994, followed by Gettysburg (25) and Muhlenberg (23). Swarthmore (16), Dickinson (13), Franklin & Marshall (13), McDaniel (13), Ursinus (13), Haverford (9) and Washington College (2) round out the team-by-team list.
