2024 United Soccer Coaches All-America Team
Franklin & Marshall's
Koa Kaliebe was named a First Team All-American by the United Soccer Coaches to highlight a contingent of four Centennial Conference men's soccer players that earned national recognition from the coaches organization.
Joining Kaliebe as All-Americans were Dickinson's
Saul Iwowo (2nd team) and
Ethan Jarden (3rd team) and Johns Hopkins'
Francis Meyer (2nd team).
Kaliebe made it back-to-back seasons as an All-America honoree as he was named to the second team in 2023. Kaliebe became the first F&M men's soccer player to earn first-team All-America recognition since Connor Whitacre '20 in 2019. Overall, the senior is the 14th different player in program history to earn All-America honors as those players have combined for 22 All-America honors dating back to the 1948 season.
Kaliebe appeared in 20 games with 19 starts, leading Franklin & Marshall in points (18), goals (eight) and total shots (60) during his senior season. The midfielder also recorded two assists and 27 shots on net this fall. Kaliebe had a huge start to the month of October by scoring two goals, including the game-winner in the Diplomats' 3-1 win over McDaniel. Kaliebe followed up that performance by scoring in each of his next two games to be named the Centennial Conference Offensive Player of the Week during that stretch. Kaliebe finishes his F&M career tied for fourth in the program record books with 19 assists in his career. The Cary, North Carolina native is also tied for sixth in games played as he appeared in 80 matches during his four years at Franklin & Marshall.
Meyer is the 31
st Blue Jay to earn All-America honors from United Soccer Coaches. He is the first JHU midfielder to earn the honor since 2019. He helped Johns Hopkins win in its second straight and 11
th overall Centennial Conference title and a trip to the NCAA Second Round.
Meyer is a three-time all-region selection and was named the 2024 Centennial Conference Defensive Player of the Year last month. He was a standout in the Blue Jay midfield in each of his four seasons. He played in 85 games and started 75 while totaling 10 goals and 10 assists, including going 5-of-5 on penalty kicks. During Meyer's career, Hopkins posted an 0.84 goals against average and 41 shutouts. This season, he led the Blue Jays six goals and 18 points and ranked second with six assists. He is tied for fourth in program history in career games played.
Iwowo earned All-America honors for the first time in his career. The CC Offensive Player of the Year paced the conference in goals (16) and points (41). Iwowo also netted a conference-leading seven match-winning goals. Over the late part of the regular season as the Devils were jockeying for playoff position Iwowo netted four goals and added one helper over the final two regular season contests. Then, in the first game of the CC postseason against Washington College he gave the home fans a thrill collecting a hat-trick on just four shots in Dickinson's 6-1 win. During the Red Devils' NCAA Tournament run, he tallied two goals and three assists.
Jarden was named to the third team after racking up 34 points thanks to 13 markers and eight assists, both numbers were good for second in the conference. Like Iwowo, Jarden had a flair for the dramatic notching four match-winners during the season. He had three multi-goal games notching two against Goucher and Washington, while netting a hat-trick against Gettysburg scoring on his only three shots of that match. Over the four-game NCAA charge, Jarden recorded six shots (one on goal) and chipped in one helper against St. Mary's College of Maryland in the opener.
