FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - Dickinson men's lacrosse added another impressive accolade to their ledger on Saturday night as junior
Sam Bunten was named the recipient of the NCAA ELITE 90 award for the 2025 NCAA Division III Men's Lacrosse Championship prior to practice at Gillette Stadium.
Bunten, majoring in both quantitative economics and data anayltics, currently carries a 3.95 GPA.
The Elite 90 award honors the exceptional achievements of student-athletes. This prestigious accolade is given to those who have not only excelled at a national championship level in their sport but have also achieved the highest academic standards among their peers. The Elite 90 is proudly awarded to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative GPA at the finals site for each of the NCAA's 90 championships.
Eligible student-athletes are sophomores or above academically who have participated in a sport for at least two years with their school. All ties are broken by the number of credits completed.
Bunten had this to say about the recognition "it is an incredible honor to receive the Elite 90 Award. Being a student-athlete is never easy, so having the opportunity to represent Dickinson College at this stage means the world to me." His head coach Dave Webster echoed his sentiments stating "We are so proud of Sam. We think the NCAA Elite 90 award is a tremendous honor and a great testament to his commitment to academic snd athletic excellence.

Bunten and the rest of the Red and White look add the biggest award of all to the trophy case tomorrow night when they battle top-ranked Tufts University for the National Championship. Opening faceoff is slated for 7pm.
