GETTYSBURG, Pa. –
Madelyn Yannetti, who was hired as full-time assistant softball coach in July, has been named the interim head coach through the 2026 season.
"Madelyn's experience and understanding of the program make this the right decision," Executive Director of Athletics and Recreation
Troy Dell '95 said. "She has contributed to the to build up of the program under Brooke Kalman and was integral part of the 2025 team achievement. I'm confident she will do great work as she leads the program over the next year."
Yannetti is no stranger to Gettysburg softball. Returning to the staff for 2024, this is her second stint with the program. She brings national championship experience to the program. A 2019 Messiah graduate, she was part of the 2016 national runner-up squad.
Yannetti holds several collegiate accolades, including NCAA Softball Championship all-tournament team, NFCA second-team all-east region and first-team All-MAC Commonwealth. She is still one of just two pitchers in Division III history to throw at least 19 shutout innings in a single game. She tossed 19 scoreless innings in a 1-0 win over Arcadia on May 6, 2017.
"I am honored to officially join Gettysburg Softball in a full-time capacity," Yannetti said. "The program has established a strong foundation for success and I am eager to contribute to building on that tradition. With dedication, teamwork and a shared commitment to excellence and each other, I am confident we will achieve meaningful success in the year ahead. Gettysburg is a community I deeply value, and it is a privilege to serve both the College and this program in such a significant way. Go Bullets!"
In addition to a stellar collegiate career, Yannetti was also drafted in 2019 to the Professional Softball League. She played for one season professionally before starting her coaching career.
Prior to being named the Bullets' full-time assistant coach, she was a health and physical education teacher at Red Land High School and served as the varsity head softball coach.
Over the last two seasons, she has worked with the Gettysburg team on a part-time basis, working primarily with the pitching staff. She previously worked on the Bullets' staff in 2021.
