COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – Ursinus Director of Athletics Al Reiser announced Thursday the hiring of Marcy Quinn as the new Softball Coach. Quinn comes to Ursinus after spending the last two seasons as a pitching coach for Arcadia University.

"We are excited to welcome Coach Quinn to Ursinus," Reiser said. "Her interview showcased her enthusiasm for softball and Ursinus College is strong and I believe she will be an excellent fit for our softball program who will build on the team's successes and positive team culture."

Quinn spent her time at Arcadia primarily coaching the pitching staff by designing and executing customized bullpen sessions focused on mechanics, pitch sequencing, and game-situation preparation. Quinn called pitches in-game through collaboration with the pitchers and catchers. Prior to Arcadia, Quinn spent a season as the pitching coach at West Hills Community College in Coalinga, California where the team set single-season strikeout, stolen base, and runs record.

"I am extremely excited and honored to be the next Ursinus softball coach", Quinn said. "This program has seen impressive growth in the last decade, and I cannot wait to build upon it.  I am looking forward to seeing this program continue to reach new heights on and off the field."

Quinn also coached various teams at the club level for 10 years as well in the State of California and Virginia.

Quinn earned her degree from the University of West Florida, where she was named First Team All-Gulf Coast Conference in 1994. Prior to West Florida, Quinn played at Merced College, where she was a two-time First Team All-Central Valley Conference selection.
