2026 All-CC Men's Basketball: Ursinus' Toure Named Player of the Year

LANCASTER, Pa. -- Ursinus' Mohamed Toure, Gettysburg's Aidan Mess and Caleb Gillus and the Gettysburg coaching staff took home top awards to lead the 2026 All-Centennial Conference Men's Basketball Team.

Toure, a senior guard for the Bears, was selected as Player of the Year. He is the fifth Ursinus player to receive the conference's top honor and first since 2008. It marks the seventh time a Bear has earned Player of the Year honors, with two of the previous recipients winning it in back-to-back years. A first-time all-star, Toure averaged 17.3 points, 4.5 rebounds, 1.0 assists, 1.0 blocks, 1.0 steals and 1.6 three-pointers per contest while shooting 49.4% from the floor, 38.5% from three-point range, and 74.5% from the free throw line. He ranks third in the CC in points per game, fifth in blocks and 12th in rebounds. Toore led the Bears to an 18-9 overall record that included a 10-3 mark in CC play and a trip to the semifinals of the conference tournament.

Mess, a senior center for the Bullets, was named Defensive Player of the Year. He is the second straight Gettysburg player to collect the conference's top defensive award, with former teammate Jordan Stafford receiving the accolade last winter. Mess has been a defensive force in the paint for the Bullets, averaging a conference-best 1.7 blocks per contest along with 7.2 rebounds, which ranks fifth in the conference. Mess anchors a Gettysburg defense that has recorded 4.1 blocks per game and allowed just 62.5 points against per game, ranking second in the CC in both categories. Mess is more than just a defensive stopper for the Bullets, also contributing 9.0 points and 1.6 assists per contest. He was also named to the All-CC second team.

Gillus, a freshman guard for the Bullets, earned Rookie of the Year accolades. He is the third Bullet to be named the top rookie in the 13-year history of the award, the most of any CC school. Gillus was also the lone freshman to receive All-Centennial honors, landing on the honorable mention squad. In 23 games this season, Gillus boasts averages of 11.3 points, 3.1 assists, 2.9 rebounds and 1.0 steals per contest. He ranks fifth in the CC in assists per game and fourth in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.3).

The Gettysburg coaching staff was selected by its peers as Coaching Staff of the Year. After taking the Gettysburg job only about a month before the season began, head coach Matt Hunter and assistants Ryan McGoff and Jalen Rhea led the Bullets to a first-place regular season finish and the CC tournament title for the first time since 2009. The Bullets own an 18-9 overall record and will compete in the NCAA Tournament this weekend as the conference's automatic qualfier.

Franklin & Marshall's Vakaris Grauslys became a three-time all-star, earning honorable mention laurels after being named to the second team each of the previous two seasons. Teammate Kevin Nowoswiat, the 2025 Player of the Year, was named to the first team again this season. Johns Hopkins' Charlie Jackson, Ursinus' Nick Nocito and Swarthmore's Zander Jimenez landed on the All-Centennial team for the second time in their careers.
