LANCASTER, Pa. -- McDaniel's Shane Daly and Haverford's Sam Cohen took home top individual honors while Washington College's Brett Connolly, McDaniel's Thomas Mezzullo and the McDaniel coaching staff also collected major awards to lead the 2026 All-Centennial Baseball Team.
Daly, a graduate student outfielder for the Green Terror, was at or near the top of the Centennial in nearly every statistical batting category. He leads the CC in runs scored (70) and doubles (18), ranks second in total bases (119), hits (69) and stolen bases (29), sixth in home runs (10), eighth in slugging percentage (.680), ninth in batting average (.394) and 10th in RBIs (51). Daly is the fourth McDaniel player to earn Player of the Year honors and first since Marty Windisch in 2016.
Cohen, a senior righthander for the Fords, was named Pitcher of the Year. Through 54.2 innings pitched and 10 starts, Cohen registered a 5-2 record with a 4.45 ERA and a conference-best 65 strikeouts. He is the third Haverford player to earn Pitcher of the Year honors along with Tommy Bergjans (2013-14-15) and Mike Rabayda (2024).
Connolly, a freshman outfielder for the Shoremen, was selected as Rookie of the Year and also named to the All-CC first team. Connolly is the first Washington College player to receive the conference's top newcomer award in its 13-year history. He leads the CC in total bases (125) and triples (6), ranks second in slugging (.762), third in hits (67), fourth in batting average (.409) and home runs (12) and eighth in RBIs (52).
Mezzullo, a sophomore shortstop for the Green Terror, was named Gold Glove of the Year as the top defensive player in the conference and also earned first team All-CC laurels. Mezzullo recorded a .954 field percentage from the shortstop position with 67 putouts, 120 assists and nine errors on the year. He is the first McDaniel player to win the Gold Glove award in the 11 years of its existence.
The McDaniel coaching staff was selected by its peers as Coaching Staff of the Year. Head coach Jim Carone and assistants Trey Martinez, Brian Culley, Joey Hubinger and Kyle Brown led the Green Terror to a 29-14 overall record, an 11-7 mark in conference play and the No. 2 seed in the CC tournament. The 29 wins are the second-most in program history.
Twelve players claimed All-Centennial awards for at least the second time in their careers, including a trio of four-time honorees - JHU's Alex Shane, McDaniel's Ben Davis and Swarthmore's Aidan Sullivan.
Johns Hopkins has the most first-team All-Centennial selections (107) since 1994. Franklin & Marshall (46) and Ursinus (43) and second and third in the conference, respectively, while Haverford (36), Gettysburg (32), Washington College (29), Dickinson (26), Muhlenberg (22), McDaniel (20) and Swarthmore (19) follow.
