LANCASTER, Pa. – Defending champion Dickinson earned top billing in the 2026 Centennial Conference Men's Soccer Preseason Poll. The Red Devils secured seven first-place votes and 79 points to earn the label of preseason favorite in the CC.
Johns Hopkins, the 2025 tournament runner-up, and Muhlenberg also picked up first-place nods in a vote among conference head coaches. The Blue Jays grabbed two first-place votes and totaled 71 points while the Mules finished third in the voting with one first-place tally and 59 points. Gettysburg (57), Haverford (51) and Washington College (38) were also picked to make the playoffs in fourth through sixth place, respectively.
Franklin & Marshall (29), Swarthmore (27), McDaniel (25) and Ursinus (14) rounded out the poll.
The 2026 season kicks off on Tuesday, Sept. 1 with all 10 CC teams in action on opening day. Conference play begins on Saturday, Sept. 19, with the six-team CC tournament slated for Nov. 3-6-8 at the higher-seeded team's home fields.

Dickinson stole the Centennial Conference men's soccer headlines in 2025, claiming the conference title for the first time since 2011 and advancing to the NCAA Elite Eight for the second consecutive season.
The Red Devils cruised through the CC postseason, downing Muhlenberg 3-0 in the semifinals before defeating Johns Hopkins 4-0 in the championship round, the largest margin of victory in a title game in conference history. In the NCAA Tournament, Dickinson blanked North Carolina Wesleyan, Denison and Lynchburg before being knocked out 4-3 in penalty kicks to Emory in the quarterfinals. The Red Devils concluded the year with an unbeaten 16-0-8 record, and their 24-game unbeaten streak is currently tied for the conference record. Johns Hopkins also put together an unbeaten stretch of 24 games from Sept. 21, 2005 to Sept. 29, 2007.
Dickinson's unbeaten season is one of just two in Centennial history. Remarkably, the only other unbeaten season also occurred in 2025, as Haverford went 10-0-10. Prior to last year, four teams had posted one-loss seasons - Johns Hopkins in 2004 (17-1-2), Swarthmore in 2010 (16-1-4) and Johns Hopkins in 2017 (16-1-4) and 2022 (15-1-8).
Hopkins leads the all-time title count with 11 while Muhlenberg is second with seven. Haverford has the third-most CC crowns with four, followed by Gettysburg (3), F&M (2), Swarthmore (2), Dickinson (2) and Washington College (1).
Six teams welcome back at least one All-Region performer and nine teams return All-Centennial honorees this fall. Reigning CC Defensive Player of the Year Sam Roberts leads the way as a three-time All-Region and three-time first team All-CC pick. With another standout season this fall, Roberts could become just the eighth player in conference history to be named first team All-Centennial four times.
Dickinson midfielder Nicholas Dwamena is a two-time All-Region and two-time All-CC pick entering his junior campaign, joining Roberts as the only multi-time All-Region performers back on the pitch this fall. Other returners with multiple all-conference honors to their names include F&M defender Thomas Kaplan, Muhlenberg forward Saleem Diakite, and Washington College defender Tshazi Kamau.
Dickinson is the lone CC team represented in the United Soccer Coaches Preseason Poll, ranked sixth.
