"No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any educational program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance." -Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972
The Centennial Conference will commemorate the 50th anniversary of Title IX with a yearlong virtual campaign starting September 2021. This celebration is a unique opportunity to recognize the conference’s rich history of women's sports and highlight past and present administrators, student-athletes, and coaches.
“We are excited to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Title IX and the numerous individuals that have benefitted from the law’s passage,” said Executive Director Portia Hoeg. “This milestone is a wonderful opportunity to showcase our extraordinary trailblazers within our membership, but also continue our unwavering commitment to gender equity in all aspects of society and the Centennial Conference.”
The Title IX webpage will go live on September 3, 2021, and will continue to be updated until the 50th anniversary of Title IX on June 23, 2022. Be sure to check back for the latest updates.
