Athletes of the Week: Nov. 20-26

LANCASTER, Pa. -- Centennial Conference weekly honors were distributed in men's and women's basketball following a limited week of action due to the Thanksgiving holiday. 

Centennial basketball teams opened up conference play on Tuesday in the lone action of the week of Nov. 20-26, 2023. 
 
MEN'S BASKETBALL

Player of the Week

Gaven Marr, Fr., G, Haverford
Glenview, Ill. | Glenbrook South
Marr paced the Fords in a 68-53 win over Washington College last Tuesday in the Centennial Conference opener. Marr dropped 21 points against the Shoremen, including a perfect 6-for-6 performance from behind the arc. The Glenview, Ill. native also produced a well-rounded stat line, pulling down five rebounds and dishing out four assists. In 30 minutes of play, Marr shot an impressive 7-for-9 from the field, and converted his only free throw attempt.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL

Player of the Week
Michaela O'Neil, Jr., F, Johns Hopkins
Auburndale, Mass. | Newton North
O'Neil fueled Johns Hopkins' 66-63 win against defending conference champion Gettysburg as she scored 18 points and added 10 rebounds, two blocks and an assist in the victory. She was 8-of-16 from the floor and 2-of-2 from the free throw line. The double-double is the third of O'Neil's career and 10 of her 18 points came in the second half, when JHU outscored the Bullets 41-34 to pull out the victory.
