LANCASTER, Pa. -- This week's Centennial Conference awards feature some impressive wins against nationally-ranked tennis opponents and the first softball honors for 2024 in addition to baseball and lacrosse accolades. See below for the full list of award winners for the week of Feb. 26 through March 3.
BASEBALL
Player of the Week
Kaden Sigmon, Jr., OF, Dickinson
Fuquay Varina, N.C. | Grace Christian
Sigmon helped Dickinson to a 4-0 start by hitting .471 (8-for-17) with 14 RBIs, nine runs scored, four doubles, three walks, two home runs and one stolen base. In the season-opening win at Lancaster Bible, Sigmon went 3-for-5 with a three-run homer in the first inning and a grand slam in the fifth. In a doubleheader at Roanoke on Saturday, he was a combined 3-for-8 at the plate with six RBIs and three runs scored. Sigmon rounded out the week with two hits and two runs scored in a Sunday single-game vs. Roanoke as the Red Devils completed the three-game sweep over the Maroons with wins of 9-2, 16-4 and 8-5.
Pitcher of the Week
Joey Sangiuolo, Sr., RHP, Dickinson

Sangiuolo opened the year with two saves over two appearances on the road against Roanoke. First, he earned an unconventional save on Saturday by throwing 3.1 shutout innings while giving up just one hit on 24 pitches and fanning six hitters in a 9-2 win. He then went back to the hill Sunday afternoon, tossing another 1.2 frames of hitless action and striking out three on 27 pitches. For the week, he went five innings and allowed just one hit with one walk and nine strikeouts.

Fleetwood, Pa. | Fleetwood
Calamita totaled five hits and four RBIs to lead McDaniel to a doubleheader sweep over Eastern Mennonite Friday. She finished the day 5-for-7 with a double and one walk for OPS of 1.607, recording multiple hits and RBIs and at least one run scored in both contests.
Pitcher of the Week

Bonita Springs, Fla. | Bonita Springs
Schatzman earned a complete-game win in her first career start. She did not allow an earned run and surrendered just four hits in 7.0 innings while striking out two in a 10-2 victory at Eastern Mennonite.

Offensive Player of the Week
Charlie Johnson, Fr., A, Gettysburg
Wilton, Conn. | Wilton
Johnson led the Bullets to an 11-9 win over Stevenson on Saturday, recording four goals and one assist on the afternoon. He also grabbed four ground balls. Johnson's tally with just three seconds remaining in the third quarter to put the Bullets up 10-7 ultimately proved to be the game-winner.
Defensive Player of the Week
Sage Garito, Sr., GK, Franklin & Marshall
Radnor, Pa. | The Haverford School
Garito stopped over 70 percent of the shots he faced during a 2-0 week for the Diplomats as they posted victories against both Messiah (12-5) and Catholic (13-5). Garito made 13 saves against Messiah before coming back with 11 more during the win against Catholic, posting a 5.00 goals against average and 70.6% save percentage. He also accumulated three ground balls and caused a turnover during his time in the crease. Garito is currently 4-1 on the season as the goalie of the record with a 59.4% save percentage 8.54 goals against average.

Steiner scored 11 goals and added one assist in a 2-0 week for the Mules. She notched three goals and an assist in a 12-11 win against Misericordia, putting in what proved to be the game-winner with 5:54 left in the fourth quarter. Steiner then exploded for a career-high eight goals in a 22-14 win against Drew, becoming the 10th Muhlenberg player to score as many as 8 goals in a game, and then first since 2018.
Defensive Player of the Week
Eva Baumann, Jr., D, Haverford
Brookline, Mass. | Brookline
Baumann was a defensive stalwart along the back in a 1-1 week for Haverford this past week. On Wednesday against Widener, Baumann gathered two ground balls and caused one turnover in a dominant 18-6 win over the Pride. In a hard-fought battle against Scranton, a team receiving votes in the latest national poll, the junior collected four ground balls and forced four turnovers in a narrow 11-10 defeat to the Royals.

Melnikov was the lone Garnet player to win in both singles and doubles action in Swarthmore's victory over No. 22 Carnegie Mellon. Melnikov and Utham Koduri continued their strong start to the campaign as the 17th-ranked doubles squad took down the 11th-ranked duo from Carnegie Mellon, 8-5, at first doubles. Melnikov and Koduri are now 7-1 on the season, including 3-0 in dual matches. The sophomore then bested the nation's fifth-ranked player in straight sets, 6-3, 6-2, in first singles.

Athlete of the Week

Short Hills, N.J. | The Pingry School
Langer went 1-1 in singles and 2-1 in doubles to help Johns Hopkins to a fourth-place finish at the ITA National Indoor Championship. She paired with Kamila Wong to win 6-3 at number two doubles and then won in three sets at three singles to clinch Hopkins' 4-3 win over sixth-ranked Emory in the quarterfinals. It was the Blue Jays' first-ever win over the Eagles. Langer and Wong then won 6-3 at number two doubles against top-ranked Claremont-Mudd-Scripps in the semifinals. Langer and Wong fell 6-3 at number one doubles against third-ranked Pomona-Pitzer. Langer then lost 6-3, 6-2 at number two singles.
