LANCASTER, Pa. -- Dickinson's Trevor Richwine, Muhlenberg's John Reichenbach, Ursinus' Jayden McKeen and the Ursinus coaching staff secured major awards to headline the 2024 All-Centennial Men's Outdoor Track & Field team.
In a vote among conference head coaches that factored in performances from the entire outdoor season and CC championship, Richwine was named Track Athlete of the Year, Reichenbach collected Field Athlete of the Year, McKeen was tabbed Rookie of the Year and the Ursinus coaching staff was selected by its peers as the Coaching Staff of the Year.
Richwine pieced together a superb sophomore outdoor campaign, including receiving Most Outstanding Track Performer of the meet honors at last week's CC championship after winning both the 400 and 800 meter races. Richwine set a new school record in the 800 (1:50.02) earlier this season, which ranks third all-time in the Centennial and eighth in the nation. His top 400 time (48.27) throughout the season is fifth all-time in the CC.
Reichenbach, who also received Most Outstanding Field Performer of the Meet honors last weekend, was tabbed Field Athlete of the Year following a record-breaking outdoor season. The Muhlenberg graduate student won conference titles in both the high jump and long jump, setting a new meet record in the high jump. He now owns a share of the Centennial high jump record (2.10m) from the Coach Pollard Invitational hosted by Moravian on April 19 and his top long jump mark ranks third all-time in the CC performance list. Currently, Reichenbach is ranked third in the nation in the high jump and 12th in the long jump.
McKeen finished in second place in the javelin and fourth in the decathlon at the CC outdoor meet to help the Bears to another team crown. The freshman is currently ranked seventh in the nation in the javelin (62.20m), a mark which ranks fourth all-time in CC history.
The Ursinus coaching staff repeated as Coaching Staff of the Year. Head coach Carl Blickle, associate head coach Stargell Williams and assistants Tyler Melius, Gerry Shatzer, Kevin Clark, Evan Giannetti, Holly Sullivan, Geoff Mock and Matt Kade guided the Bears to the top of the CC standings for the third consecutive season.
All-Centennial honors are awarded to the top-three placewinners in each individual event and the top two relay teams. See below for the complete list of honorees.
