NEW ORLEANS - For the first in the history of the Dickinson men's outdoor track and field program an athlete has been recognized by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Association as the National Collegiate Athlete of the Week for Division III presented by MF-Athletic as senior Trevor Richwine was tabbed for the honor on Monday afternoon by the organization.

Richwine, the native of Newville, Pennsylvania, continued to rewrite the record books on Friday night in Charlottesville, Virginia at the Virginia Challenge hosted by the University of Virginia on Lannigan Field. The senior nabbed 15th in the 800m race that consisted of athletes from primarily Division I and Division II as he was the only Division III competitor in the race. What truly made the night special for the Devil though was his time of 1:47.46 set not only the new Dickinson record, but it reset the mark for the Centennial Conference of 1:48.26 from Karl Paranya of Haverford College which had stood since May 23, 1997. His time also now ranks second in the history of Division III athletics trailing only Nick Symmonds of Willamette University who clocked in at 1:47.34 on May 13, 2006 in Nashville, Tennessee.

Richwine will attempt to better his mark next weekend when he returns to action at the Paul Kaiser Classic hosted by Shippensburg University at Seth Grove Stadium.
