Four Centennial teams qualified for the NCAA Tournament last fall, marking just the second time in conference history that at least four teams advanced to the national tournament (the CC qualified a record five teams in 2019). The Centennial has also sent three teams to the dance five different times (2005-2015-2016-2017-2021).
Johns Hopkins earned the conference's automatic bid while Swarthmore, McDaniel and Franklin & Marshall nabbed at-large spots into the field of 64. JHU and McDaniel advanced to the second round before being knocked out in tight one-goal contests.
Hopkins owns the most titles in conference history (16), followed by Gettysburg (5), Muhlenberg (3), Swarthmore (3), Haverford (2) and McDaniel (1).
The 2024 campaign figures to be another strong one from top to bottom throughout the conference, with the CC welcoming back three All-Americans, 10 All-Region selections and 29 All-Centennial performers. Leading that list is JHU senior forward Katie Sullivan, a three-time All-American, including two first team honors, and the reigning Offensive Player of the Year in the conference. Sullivan led the CC in goals (15), game-winning goals (6) and points (35) last season. Blue Jay teammate Annie Isphording, a junior defender, is also back as a multi-time All-American, having earned third team accolades in 2023 and first team laurels in 2022. McDaniel senior midfielder Jessica Weinholdt also owns All-America status entering the fall after securing third team recognition last fall.
Joining that trio as a multi-time All-Region and All-Centennial pick is Swarthmore senior defender Emme Hansard, while Haverford junior defender Lauren Anderson and Swarthmore senior midfielder Allie Zitelli also have multiple All-Centennial awards to their names entering the year.
In the United Soccer Coaches Preseason National Rankings, Johns Hopkins is ranked 17th while McDaniel is 25th.
