Gettysburg made history last winter, becoming the first team in Centennial history to claim four straight conference championships and just the third team in conference history to reach the NCAA quarterfinals.
The Bullets opened their stellar postseason with a 68-60 overtime win at Johns Hopkins in the CC title game, marking the fourth consecutive title-game win for the Bullets over the Blue Jays. Both Gettysburg and JHU went on to reach the NCAA Sweet 16, a first in conference history. In the Sweet 16, Gettysburg defeated Randolph-Macon 56-49 while Johns Hopkins fell to Scranton 52-46. Competing in the Elite Eight for the first time in program history, the Bullets fell to eventual national champion NYU in the quarterfinals.
Last year was the seventh year in a row and 17th overall that multiple CC teams qualified for the national tournament.
Hopkins and Gettysburg are ranked in the both the WBCA and D3hoops.com preseason national polls. Hopkins is ranked No. 8 by D3hoops and No. 10 by the WBCA, while Gettysburg is t-8th in the WBCA poll and 24th in the D3hoops poll.
A large number of accomplished Centennial players either graduated or are not returning this winter, opening the door for a new wave of talent to emerge throughout the conference. JHU's Macie Feldman and McDaniel's Elaina Beckett and Teya McConnaha highlight the list of returners as multi-time All-Centennial honorees. Beckett, a senior forward for the Green Terror, is a three-time all-star, having earned second team All-CC awards in each of her three seasons. McConnaha, a junior forward for McDaniel, was an honorable mention pick last year and the 2023-24 Rookie of the Year. Feldman, a senior guard for the Blue Jays, was a second team All-CC pick last winter and honorable mention as a sophomore in 2023-24.
Other returning All-CC performers include F&M senior guard Lizzie Neville, Washington College senior center Kaitlyn Boggs, and Ursinus senior forward Madison Smith.
