Offensive Player of the Week
Dante Mahaffey, Sr., QB, Muhlenberg
Lower Saucon Twp., Pa. | Saucon Valley
Mahaffey threw for 203 yards and rushed for 116, leading Muhlenberg to a come-from-behind 39-36 win against Ursinus. The Mules trailed by 11 points in the fourth quarter before Mahaffey led them on two touchdown drives, converting three third-and-longs with passes of 21, 13, and 17 yards and rushing for 18 yards on third-and-16. He threw the game-winning touchdown pass, his third of the game, with 1:06 remaining in the fourth quarter. The 116 rushing yards were just five short of the school record for a quarterback in a Centennial Conference game.
Defensive Player of the Week
Robert Sturges, So., LB, Carnegie Mellon
Collegeville, Pa. | Perkiomen Valley
Sturges played a huge part in 17th-ranked Carnegie Mellon's 56-7 win over McDaniel in its inaugural Centennial Conference contest on Saturday. The Tartan defense held the Green Terror to -4 yards of rushing. Sturges recorded a career day with five tackles and 3.0 sacks for a loss of 46 yards while he forced a fumble and had two quarterback hurries. Sturges' three sacks are the most for a Tartan in a single game since Evan Roper recorded three against Thiel on October 7, 2023, and the most for a CC player this season.
