LANCASTER, Pa. -- Johns Hopkins' Simone Adam and Swarthmore's Melissa Eyer repeated as major award winners to headline the 2025 All-Centennial Volleyball Team. Haverford's Elizabeth Cella and the Franklin & Marshall coaching staff also garnered top honors.
Adam, a senior outside hitter for the Blue Jays, was named Player of the Year for the second year in a row. The 2022 CC Rookie of the Year and now a four-time All-Centennial pick, Adam is the fifth player in Centennial history to receive the conference's top honor multiple times. It marks the third straight and 10th overall Player of the Year honor for Hopkins. Adam ranks second in the CC in kills per set (3.62) and points per set (4.20) and fourth in hitting percentage (.326) while also averaging 2.83 digs and 0.54 blocks per set.
Eyer repeated as Defensive Player of the Year. The Garnet sophomore libero, who was also named Rookie of the Year last fall, leads the CC by a wide margin in digs per set at 4.91. Eyer was also selected to the All-Centennial first team for the second year in a row.
Cella was tabbed as Rookie of the Year following a standout opening campaign for the Fords at the outside hitter position. Also a first team All-CC pick, Cella averaged 3.44 kills per set (5th in CC) and 3.94 points per set (3rd in CC). Cella is the third Ford to claim top rookie honors in the 13-year history of the award and the 19th freshmen in CC history to be named to the first team.
The F&M coaching staff was chosen by its peers as Coaching Staff of the Year. Head coach Mary Kate Salko and assistant coaches Chris Salko and Caroline Boehm have guided the Diplomats to a 22-6 overall record, a 9-1 mark in conference play, a runner-up finish in the CC tournament and an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament. This marks the third career CC coaching honor for Salko, who was previously named Coach of the Year in 2012 and 2018.
Ten players earned All-Centennial recognition for at least the second time in their careers, led by Adam's fourth time on the all-star squad. Gettysburg senior Mary Huegel joined Adam as a now three-time first team selection, with the duo being two of just 19 player in conference history to earn first team honors at least three times. JHU senior Helena Swaak and F&M senior Liah Perez, both first team picks, received all-conference laurels for the third time.
Franklin & Marshall has 43 first-team All-CC selections since 1993, while Gettysburg and Johns Hopkins second with 38 each. Haverford has had 31 players named to the All-CC first team, followed by Swarthmore (23), Muhlenberg (16), McDaniel (13), Dickinson (7), Bryn Mawr (3), Ursinus (1) and Washington College (1).
