JHU's Adam, F&M's Salko Receive Top Regional Awards; Nine from CC Named All-Region

AVCA All-Region Teams

Johns Hopkins senior outside hitter Simone Adam and Franklin & Marshall head coach Mary Kate Salko were honored with major awards to lead Centennial Conference honors on the 2025 American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Region 5 Team. 

Adam was selected as the Region 5 Player of the Year, becoming the second player in CC history to secure the region's top honor. Former JHU standout setter Natalie Aston earned the honor twice in 2019 and 2021. Salko was tabbed as the Region 5 Coach of the Year, marking the fourth time that a Centennial coach received the award and the first time for Salko. 

Six players received first team accolades. Adam was joined on the first team by teammate Helena Swaak, Haverford's Elizabeth Cella, F&M's Ceci Connolly, Gettysburg's Mary Huegel and Swarthmore's Melissa Eyer. Adam is now a three-time first team all-region pick and was also named Freshman of the Year back in 2022. Swaak collected first team honors for the second time in her career, while Huegel earned honorable mention honors twice prior the first team selection this year. Eyer was named Freshman of the Year last fall. 

A trio of players received honorable mention laurels - Swarthmore's Isabel Adam, F&M's Liah Perez and JHU's Nicole Tuszynski. Perez is a repeat honorable mention honoree.
