Carnegie Mellon, Ursinus Post CC-MAC Bowl Series Home Victories

Centennial improves to 20-7 all-time in 10th anniversary of bowl series

Carnegie Mellon and Ursinus both notched home victories in the 10th anniversary of the Centennial-MAC Bowl Series on Saturday. Dickinson dropped a road contest at Delaware Valley as the CC went 2-1 in the bowl games. 

Carnegie Mellon overcame a halftime deficit to defeat Misiercordia, 24-17. Ursinus downed Lebanon Valley 31-13, while Dickinson fell to Delaware Valley 14-13. 

The Centennial now leads the all-time series 20-7, including an 17-3 mark over the past six seasons. 

ABOUT THE CENTENNIAL-MAC BOWL SERIES
The Centennial Conference and the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) announced on Nov. 5, 2015 their partnership to hold two postseason football games between member institutions known as the Centennial-MAC Bowl Series. In the spring of 2018, the two conferences voted and approved an additional bowl game to increase the series to three games beginning in the fall of 2018. The Centennial-MAC Bowl Series is comprised of the top-three teams from each conference that are not selected to the NCAA Division III Championship.


In Pittsburgh, Pa., Carnegie Mellon downed Misericordia with a thrilling 24-17 victory in its first appearance in the Centennial-MAC Bowl Series at Richard M. Lackner Field at Gesling Stadium. Senior linebacker Connor Warren was named Most Valuable Player of the game. The Tartans conclude the year at 6-5 with the win, while the Cougars fell to 7-4. 

Carnegie Mellon ended the game with 306 yards of total offense while Misericordia totaled 338 yards. Warren finished with eight tackles, six solo, an interception, three pass breakups and a fumble return for a touchdown. Senior Jacob Franze ended the game with a team-high 10 tackles and two forced fumbles while Jack Lawson totaled three force fumbles, a fumble recovery, a sack, an interception and seven tackles, five solo.

Junior Giacomo Valente ran for a career-high 90 yards on 11 carries, while Brendan McCullough led the Tartans receivers with six receptions for 63 yards. Misercordia quarterback Jacbo Hunter was dynamic throughout the game, finishing with 187 yards passing with one touchdown while also rushing for a team-high 115 yards on 19 carries and a touchdown. 


In Collegeville, Pa., Ursinus finished its 2025 season with a 31-13 win over Lebanon Valley in the 10th annual Centennial-MAC Bowl Series game at Patterson Field on Saturday afternoon.

With the win, the Bears claimed their fourth Centennial-MAC Bowl Series win in program history and finish the season with a 7-4 record. Ursinus now has seven straight seasons with at least seven wins dating back to the 2017 season. Meanwhile, the Dutchmen will finish 2025 with a 6-5 record.
 
Junior running back Jason Bernard claimed game MVP numbers behind a career-high 133 rushing yards on 23 carries with two touchdowns. Bernard powered a potent Bears rushing attack that finished with 243 yards as a team and he averaged 5.8 yards per carry.  Senior Jaden Louis rushed for 52 yards on seven carries with a touchdown and classmate Andrew Kmett added the Bears final touchdown of the game.
 
Junior quarterback Tristan Machado went 12-of-23 for 131 yards passing and junior wide receiver Ryder Zulkowski led the Bears with 55 receiving yards on three catches. Senior Cody House caught a game-high six passes for 49 yards in the win.


In Doylestown, Pa., Dickinson dropped a tight 14-13 decision to Delaware Valley in the Centennial-MAC Bowl Series matchup between the CC's #2 seed and the MAC's #1 seed. With the loss, the Red Devils fall to 0-2 in the bowl series. 

The Red Devils conclude the year at 5-6 with the loss, while the Aggies improved to 8-3. 

Dickinson led nearly the entire game, holding leads of 3-0 after the first quarter, 10-0 at halftime and 13-7 heading into the fourth quarter. But the Red Devil offense was unable to add to its total in the fourth and 64-yard touchdown pass from Mike Galasso to Gavin Migliori with just under 12 minutes left in the fourth proved to be the game-winning touchdown. 

Dane Sorensen had a big day on the ground for the Red Devils, rushing for 145 yards on 19 carries with one touchdown. Juan Pablo Garcia paced the Dickinson defense with 13 tackles and two pass break-ups, while Jason Genilello intercepted two passes to go along with six tackles. 

Justin Brown led the Aggies with 160 yards rushing on 26 carries while Galasso went 17 for 33 through the air, two touchdowns and two interceptions. Jeremiah Clark posted a game-high 14 tackles for the Aggie defense.
