Johns Hopkins captured its second straight and 18th overall Centennial Conference championship last spring. The Blue Jays went on to advance to the NCAA Super Regionals but came up just short of a repeat appearance at the Division III World Series, falling to Endicott in the super regional round.
In the Centennial championship, JHU downed Dickinson for the second year in a row to hoist the CC trophy. The Blue Jays defeated the Red Devils 15-10 in the championship game to claim their 14th tournament title.
The 2025 season will mark the final year in the dugout for long-time JHU skipper Bob Babb. Hired at Hopkins in May of 1979, the 2025 season will mark the 46th for Babb as the Blue Jay head coach. Babb has compiled more than 1,300 victories and six trips to the Division III World Series in his tenure. With a record of 1,302-478-16 (.729), he is the all-time victories leader among Centennial Conference coaches and is one of just five Division III coaches in history to win 1,300 career games.
The Blue Jays welcome back two All-Americans, six All-Region and six All-Centennial performers this spring. Caleb Cyr, a graduate student catcher, and Shawn Steuerer, a senior third baseman, highlight the list as the two returning All-Americans in the conference. Steuerer became a two-time All-American pick last spring as a third team selection on the D3baseball.com squad, while Cyr earned national accolades for the first time as a second team pick by both D3baseball.com and the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA).
A total of 16 players with All-Region accolades and 39 with All-Centennial honors to their names are back on the diamond, showcasing the large number of talented and accomplished players set to compete once again in the CC this spring. Eight Centennial teams welcome back at least one All-Region recipient while all 10 CC squads have at least one all-conference performer on the roster.
Reigning CC Player of the Year Harry Genth of Haverford is back this season following a standout junior campaign for the Fords in 2024, as is reigning Gold Glove of the Year Chuck Norton, a junior catcher for the Fords.
Hopkins is ranked sixth in the D3baseball.com Preseason National Rankings.
