LANCASTER, Pa. -- Johns Hopkins' Annie Huang, Claudia Ouimet and the Blue Jay coaching staff received major awards along with Ursinus' Rainah Dunham to lead the 2025 All-Centennial Women's Indoor Track & Field Team.
The major awards are voted on by the conference head coaches, while first team, second team and honorable mention honors are awarded based on placings at the Centennial championship meet. Every gold medal individual and relay team earns first team honors, every silver medal individual and relay team earns second team honors, and every bronze medal individual is named to the honorable mention squad.
Huang was named Track Athlete of the Year following stellar senior indoor campaign. Huang owns the top conference times in both the 400 and 800 meters this winter and compiled a trio of gold medals at last weekend's Centennial championship. Huang won the 400 meters, was part of the conference meet record-setting distance medley relay for the Blue Jays and also anchored the winning 4x400 relay. Her season-best 800 time of 2:09.41 currently ranks third in the nation.
Dunham was selected as Field Athlete of the Year after posting two of the top marks in the nation in the horizontal jumps. The senior's top triple jump of 12.50 meters ranks second on the national performance list, while her top long jump of 5.83 meters in eighth. Both set new Ursinus school indoor records and rank second and third, respectively, on the all-time Centennial lists. Dunham will vie for repeat All-America honors in both events at nationals in mid-March.
JHU's Ouimet earned Rookie of the Year. The freshman was the CC champion in the pentathlon with 3,328 points, which ranks 24th in the nation. In the pentathlon she finished first in the hurdles and second in the high jump, long jump and shot put. She also finished fourth in the open long jump at the CC meet. Ouimet boasts the third-best 60 hurdles time in the conference this season and the sixth-best mark in the shot put, showcasing her all-around abilities.
The Johns Hopkins coaching staff was chosen by its peers as Coaching Staff of the Year. JHU head coach Bobby Van Allen and assistants Hassaan Stamps, Alex Jebb, Jefferson Butler, Stephanie Colby, Cullen Doody, Dan Schuman, Nikhil Bagchi, Casey Comber, Hannah Morris, Kevin Sommer and Kaze Wong helped lead the Blue Jays to their 14th consecutive CC crown. This marks the seventh straight women's indoor coaching honor for Van Allen and the Blue Jays.
