NCAA Bracket

Fifth-ranked Franklin & Marshall and sixth-ranked Gettysburg secured home wins in the second round of the NCAA Tournament on Sunday while Haverford fell by the narrowest of margins to see its season come to a close.

In Lancaster, Pa., F&M advanced to the Sweet 16 with a 15-11 win over Messiah on Sunday afternoon. The Diplomats (18-2) started strong and finished strong while surviving some challenges in the middle from the Falcons to guarantee themselves at least one more weekend of lacrosse.

With the win, the Diplomats will next play Denison this coming Saturday while Gettysburg and Washington and Lee sit on the opposite side of F&M's pod. Senior Lydia Cassilly led F&M with five goals and one assist, with first-year Annie Marshall
contributing the first hat trick of her career in a very timely manner. Claire Book added two more goals to the winning effort as eight different Diplomats found their way onto the scoresheet.

In Gettysburg, Pa., Gettysburg used a 5-2 advantage in the third quarter to take a one-goal lead to the final period and ultimately top 18th-ranked Trinity (Conn.) 13-11 in the second round of the 2025 NCAA Div. III women's lacrosse tournament at Gettysburg. This marked the second-straight season that the Bullets downed Trinity 13-11 in the second round.

Sarah Scollin led a balanced day for the Bullets with two goals, one assist, two ground balls and two caused turnovers. Emily Crane added two goals, two ground balls, six draw controls and a caused turnover. Lily Macatee led the defense with four ground balls, two caused turnovers and two draw controls.

Gettysburg will take on Washington and Lee at F&M in Saturdays third round game.

In Salisbury, Md., 19th-ranked Haverford (15-6) was narrowly defeated by No. 7 Salisbury (15-4) in the second round of the NCAA Women's Lacrosse tournament, as the Sea Gulls held off a late surge from the Fords in a 9-8 victory at Sea Gull Stadium on a warm and sunny Sunday afternoon.
