LANCASTER, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall head men's and women's swimming coach Joe Acquaviva has announced that he is stepping down from his position to accept an assistant coaching position at Princeton University. Acquaviva served as head coach of the Diplomats for three seasons after being hired in August of 2022.

Acquaviva registered a combined 35-24 record in dual meets between the men's and women's programs, winning 18 duals with the men and 17 more with the women. That overall record included a 27-12 mark in Centennial Conference action between the two squads, with 15 victories for the women and 12 more for the men.

Franklin & Marshall totaled 50 All-Centennial Conference honors between the men and women during his tenure. Acquaviva additionally coached four All-Americans when the 200 yard freestyle relay of John Devaney, Matt Hurford, Sam Kamdin, and Ben Lockey received honorable mention All-America recognition during the 2024 NCAA Division III National Championships.
As a team, men's swimming was the Centennial Conference runner-up during Acquaviva's debut season and took third at each of the last two conference championship meets. The women earned back-to-back fourth place finishes in 2023 and 2024 before placing third this past season to match the program's best finish in the past decade.
