LANCASTER, Pa. -- The fall 2025 season kicked off this past weekend with Centennial Conference cross country, field hockey, soccer and volleyball teams opening the year from Aug. 29-31

Athlete of the Week
Nathan Caldwell, Jr., Dickinson
Ringwood, N.J. | Lakeland Regional
Caldwell began the 2025 season with a second-place finish in a field of 109 runners at the Misericordia Invitational on Friday. Caldwell finished with a time of 12:25 on the 4k course, helping the Red Devils to the team title with 29 points to best the host Cougars by 19 points.

Chicago, Ill. | The Latin School of Chicago=
Kotler led the fifth-ranked Blue Jays to a team win at the Trials of Miles XC Opening Night with a second-place finish in a field of 57 runners, covering the course in 17:37.6 to easily outpace Georgetown’s Charlotte Bell, who crossed in 17:49.9 to finish third. The Blue Jays totaled 42 points to edge local Division I rivals Maryland (46), George Washington (49) and the host Hoyas (99).

Offensive Player of the Week
Megan McClure, Jr., F, Dickinson

McClure led the Red Devils to a 2-0 start with wins over ninth-ranked Messiah and Virginia Wesleyan. The junior forward opened the year as the only player to score in a 1-0 shootout victory over Messiah. Entering the fifth and final round of the shootout, both the Red Devils and Falcons remained deadlocked at 0-0 before McClure found the back of the cage on her penalty stroke. McClure followed up that performance with two goals on just two shots in a 6-0 win over Virginia Wesleyan, scoring the second and third goals of the game.
Defensive Player of the Week
Taylor Morrow, Sr., GK, Dickinson
Marlboro, N.J. | Saint John Vianney
Morrow backstopped the Red Devils to a pair of home shutout wins over ninth-ranked Messiah and Virginia Wesleyan. On Friday against the nationally-ranked Falcons, she recorded seven saves during the course of 80 minutes, before going a perfect five-for-five in the shootout to preserve the win. She wrapped up the week on Sunday by making one save on a penalty stroke in the first quarter en route to a 6-0 win against the Marlins.

Rigo led the Bullets to a 2-0 start to the season, scoring three goals and adding an assist. In a 5-0 win at Widener on Friday, he recorded a goal and an assist before netting both goals in a 2-0 victory at Neumann on Saturday.

Kennedy backstopped the Bullets defense in a pair of shutouts to open the season. He started and played 80 minutes of a 5-0 win over Widener on Friday before going the distance with his first individual clean sheet in a 2-0 victory at Widener on Saturday. He made six saves on the weekend, including four in Saturday's shutout.

Kanellakos collected a pair of game-winning goals to lead the Garnet to victories over Transylvania and 13th-ranked Washington & Lee. The sophomore scored the first of three Swarthmore goals, while adding an assist against Transylvania to lead the Garnet to a 3-0 victory in the opener. Swarthmore then upset the 13th-ranked Generals 1-0 with a Kanellakos game-winner in the 89th minute. She currently leads the conference in points with two goals and one assist.

Columbia, Md. | Atholton
Bedward combined for seven saves while collecting her first two career shutouts in victories over Transylvania and 13th-ranked Washington & Lee. The senior made six saves in a 1-0 win over the No. 13 Generals, including a crucial leaping stop to preserve a tie game in the first half. Bedward, who only made one career start leading up to this weekend, is the only conference keeper with a pair of shutouts to start the season.

Adam helped lead the Blue Jays to an undefeated opening weekend, going 3-0 with wins over Babson, Capital and Rowan. After the first week of play, the senior has amassed a team-leading 37 kills on a .473 hitting percentage, including a team-high 17 kills on the strength of a .429 hitting percentage in a 3-1 win against Babson. The outside hitter also added four service aces to her weekend clip.

Maple City, Mich. | Leland Public School
Moord opened the 2025 season in impressive fashion for Haverford, earning Tournament MVP honors at the Haverford Invitational, where the Fords posted a 3-1 record. Across four matches, Moord tallied 22 total blocks, including four solo and 18 assisted. After recording 11 total blocks on the opening night against Lebanon Valley and Stockton, the sophomore capped the weekend by leading all players with nine blocks in the tournament finale, helping the Scarlet and Black upset (RV) Stevens.
