LANCASTER, Pa. -- Johns Hopkins swept the four major awards as Adriana Catalano, Erika Ezumba, Ani Wedemeyer and the Blue Jay coaching staff received top honors on the 2026 All-Centennial Women's Outdoor Track & Field Team.
Catalano was named Track Athlete of the Year after winning Centennial gold in the 4x800 meter relay and finishing runner-up in the 1500. Catalano is ranked fourth nationally in the 1500 with a season-best time of 4:25.14 from the Bison Outdoor Classic at Bucknell on April 11, which ranks fifth on the CC all-time performance list. She is also ranked 14th in the 5,000 meters with a top time of 16:36.47 from the Raleigh Relays on March 26, which also ranks fifth on the CC all-time list.
Ezumba claimed Field Athlete of the Year following another superb campaign for the Blue Jays. The senior thrower won the hammer throw and shot put and finished second in the discus at last weekend's CC championship, with her hammer mark setting a new championship record. Ezumba broke her own Centennial record in the hammer throw (58.77m) at the Penn Relays on April 23, with that mark still ranking No. 1 in the nation. She also boasts the 13th-best shot put mark in the nation of 13.65m from the George Mason meet on April 3. That shot put mark ranks fourth all-time on the CC performance list. Ezumba was also named the Field Most Outstanding Performer of Meet last weekend.
Wedemeyer was chosen as Rookie of the Year to complete the Blue Jay sweep of individual honors. Wedemeyer is the top-ranked freshman nationally in both the 800 (2:10.65) and 1500 (4:28.32). Both of those times rank ninth all-time on the CC performance list. Her 1500 time is 14th on the Division III liist and her 800 time is 18th. At the CC championship, Wedemeyer placed second in the 800.
The Johns Hopkins coaching staff was selected by the other coaches in the conference as Coaching Staff of the Year. JHU head coach Bobby Van Allen and assistants Alex Jebb, Jefferson Butler, Stephanie Colby, Cullen Doody, Dan Schuman, Nikhil Bagchi, Casey Comber and Grace Hadley guided the Blue Jays to their 16th outdoor title in a row.
The major awards are voted on by the conference head coaches, while first team, second team and honorable mention honors are awarded based on placings at the Centennial championship meet. Every gold medal individual and relay team earns first team honors, every silver medal individual and relay team earns second team honors, and every bronze medal individual is named to the honorable mention squad.
