CC Lands Six on CSC Academic All-America Team

Six from Hopkins, one from Carnegie Mellon earn national honor

2025 CSC Academic All-America Football Team

Six Centennial Conference football players have been named to the 2025 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-America Football Team. Johns Hopkins placed a national-best five players on the squad while Carnegie Mellon had one player honored. 

For Hopkins, graduate student quarterback Bay Harvey, junior wide receiver Cole Crotty and junior defensive lineman Will Seibert all earned first team honors, while senior offensive lineman Charlie Pearson and senior defensive lineman Isaac Urquidi were named to the second team. Carnegie Mellon's Bennett Grace was named to the first team. 
 
Crotty becomes the sixth wide receiver in JHU program history to earn Academic All-America honors. Crotty was a third team All-America pick by both D3football.com and the Associated Press in 2025 after leading the Blue Jays with 86 receptions for a school-record 1,414 yards and 14 touchdowns. He now owns career totals of 226 receptions for 3,260 yards and 28 TDs entering his senior campaign. 

Harvey becomes the the third quarterback in JHU program history to earn Academic All-America and the first to earn first team accolades. Harvey was a second team All-America pick by D3football.com and a third team selection by the Associated Press in 2025. He was also a Gagliardi Trophy finalist, the D3football.com Region 2 Offensive Player of the Year, first team All-Region and first team All-Centennial. Harvey finished the 2025 season with 3,304 passing yards and 33 touchdown passes and rushed for 696 yards and 14 touchdowns. His 47 overall touchdowns in 2025 is a JHU single-season record, while 4,000 yards of total offense ranks third. 

Pearson becomes the 16th offensive lineman in JHU history to earn Academic All-America. A second team All-Centennial pick, Pearson was named to the 2025 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team. He was a key member of an offensive line that paved the way for a unit that averaged 41.4 points and 459.1 yards per game. Pearson started all 41 games over his final three seasons and was also named the 2024 CC Football Scholar-Athlete of the Year. 

Seibert and Urquidi become the 18th and 19th defensive linemen in program history to earn Academic All-America. Seibert was a third team All-America selection by D3football.com in 2025 along with earning first team All-Region and first team All-Centennial accolades. He totaled 48 tackles, 11.5 tackles for loss and 8.0 sacks, leading the Blue Jays in sacks and finishing second in tackles for loss. He now has career totals of 112 tackles, 23.0 TFLs and 15.5 sacks entering his senior year. 

Urquidi was a second team All-Region pick in 2025 by D3football.com and first team All-Centennial. He finished the 2025 season with 40 tackles, including team-high 12.0 for losses and 3.5 sacks. Urquidi ended his career with 147 tackles, 37.5 TFLs and 13.5 sacks. He ranks fifth in program history in career TFLs. 

Grace becomes the 73rd Academic All-American in Carnegie Mellon program history. Grace carries a 4.0 GPA as a mechanical engineering major and is pursuing a minor in business administration. He was named the Centennial Conference Football Scholar-Athlete of the Year which is presented to a member of the junior or senior class with the highest cumulative GPA on the All-Centennial team. Grace finished the 2025 season as a second team All-Centennial honoree. The senior finished second on the Tartans with 10.5 tackles for a loss which ranked fourth in the Centennial Conference in the regular season. He also finished with 2.0 sacks and 48 tackles.

Off the field, Grace has worked on numerous projects, including the Foldable Chair Project, Coat Rack Project and Mobot Project. The four-year linebacker has been a sensor engineering intern for STR where he served as the primary point of contact for an external subcontractor developing a 3D model of a sensor deployment device. Grace also was an engineering intern for Ripa Engineering Corp. He is a member of Alpha Sigma Phi and Tau Beta Pi and has achieved engineering dean's list every semester.
