Centennial Conference Football Players of the Week

September 6

Offensive Player of the Week
Dane Sorensen, Jr., RB, Dickinson
Bridgewater, N.J. | Bridgewater
Sorensen racked up 148 yards and two touchdowns on the ground on 21 carries to aid in Dickinson's 27-14 upset win over 25th-ranked Randolph-Macon on Friday night. He also added two catches totaling 14 yards. Sorensen recorded a one-yard touchdown run in the second quarter to cap a 13-play, 74-yard drive, before breaking numerous tackles during a 75-yard touchdown scamper in the third quarter, which gave Dickinson a 20-7 lead early in the second half. Sorensen's 75-yard run was the longest in the Centennial Conference since October 19, 2024.
Defensive Player of the Week
Andy Zigbuo, Jr., CB, Ursinus
Ewing, N.J. | Notre Dame
Zigbuo had two interceptions and played a big role in the Bears 17-14 season-opening win over Delaware Valley on Friday night. It was the first multi-interception game of his career and he added three solo tackles as well. Both of his interceptions stopped Aggies drives that made it into Bears territory, with one coming in the end zone.
Special Teams Player of the Week
Christopher Short, Sr., KR, Muhlenberg
Closter, N.J. | Northern Valley Demarest
Short returned the opening kickoff of the season 92 yards for a touchdown to set the stage for the Mules' season-opening 34-7 win at Moravian. It was the third career kickoff return TD for Short, moving him into a tie for third on the all-time Centennial Conference list. Short is the third Mule in the last 40 years, and the first since 2006, to open the season with a kickoff return touchdown.
