Johns Hopkins made history in 2022, becoming the first team the 30-year history of the Centennial Conference to win a national championship. The Blue Jays completed the year with an unbeaten 23-0-2 record, capping off the campaign with victories over Messiah and Case Western in the NCAA Final Four and championship game, respectively.
JHU is once again the favorite not only in the CC but also in the preseason national rankings, as the Blue Jays sit atop the United Soccer Coaches Preseason Poll.
Can anyone knock the Blue Jays off their perch in 2023? Hopkins owns the most titles in conference history (15), but CC women's soccer has witnessed a different champion in three of the last four years, displaying the depth of talented teams across the conference. On the all-time champions list, Gettysburg (5) is second followed by Muhlenberg (3), Swarthmore (3), Haverford (2) and McDaniel (1).
Key returners throughout the conference this fall include two All-Americans, five All-Region and 16 All-Centennial performers from eight different CC teams. JHU's Katie Sullivan, a two-time All-America pick, and Annie Isphording, a first team All-American as a freshman in 2022, lead the way. Joining Sullivan and Isphording as All-Region returners are F&M's Sierra Brophy, McDaniel's Jessica Weinoldt and Swarthmore's Emme Hansard.
