LANCASTER, Pa. -- Centennial Conference weekly awards have been announced for the week of Sept. 18-14 in cross country, field hockey, soccer and volleyball.
Simrin Carlsen of Johns Hopkins volleyball headlines this week's list of honorees as the first repeat award winner of the fall season.

MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY
Athlete of the Week
Brock Overlander, Jr., Dickinson
Mount Joy, Pa. | Donegal
Overlander finished ninth among 184 runners at the Dickinson Long-Short Invitational at Big Spring High School, the site of the 2023 NCAA Division III National Championships. The junior completed the 8k course in 25:57.1, leading the Red Devils to a sixth-place team finish out of 20 squads that included a number of regionally-ranked opponents.

Athlete of the Week
Amiyah Priebe, Jr., Dickinson
Newport, Pa. | Newport
Priebe took eighth place in a field of 159 runners at the Dickinson Long-Short Invitational at Big Spring High School, the site of the 2023 NCAA Division III National Championships. Priebe crossed the 6k finish line in 22:45.1 to help the Red Devils to sixth place in the team rankings among the 19 team scores.

Offensive Player of the Week
Magdelana Jordan, Fr., M, Swarthmore
Whitney Point, N.Y. | Whitney Point
Jordan had a goal and at least one assist in both of Swarthmore's victories this week, tallying seven points with two goals and three assists. Jordan netted her first-career goal to go along with an assist in a 4-1 win over Cabrini. She then ended her week with a goal and two assists in a Centennial Conference victory against McDaniel. Swarthmore has won five straight games with their only two losses coming against nationally-ranked opponents.
Defensive Player of the Week
Liz Falterer, Jr., D, Johns Hopkins
Fairfield, Conn. | Fairfield Warde
Falterer led Johns Hopkins to a pair of wins over ranked opponents last week. She led a Blue Jay defense that allowed just one goal and 10 total shots in more than 122 minutes of action. On Wednesday night, Falterer and JHU held fourth-ranked Messiah to a lone goal and just eight shots, the Falcons' lowest total this season, in a 2-1 overtime win. Messiah was averaging nearly four goals per game entering the contest. Falterer also scored both goals in the win. On Saturday, she anchored a defense that held host and 19th-ranked Ursinus to just two shots in Hopkins' 3-0 win. It was the Bears' lowest shot total in more than six years. Falterer also notched an assist in the win.

Akdag recorded assists in back-to-back wins for the Mules. He assisted on a second-half goal at Misericordia to give Muhlenberg a 2-0 lead, and that goal proved to be the difference in a 2-1 win. He also assisted on the lone goal of a 1-0 Centennial Conference win vs. Dickinson. Akdag leads all active CC players with his 24 career assists.

Spotts, Cayman Islands | Richard Montgomery
Coster led the Bears to a 2-0 week behind 1-0 victories over King's on Wednesday and Johns Hopkins on Saturday. The junior anchored the Bears back line leading the team to two shutouts, while also scoring the game-winning goal during the 75th minute against the Blue Jays on Saturday.

Gizzie continued their scorching start to the season with three goals and an assist to help the Garnet to a 2-0 week. Gizzie tallied two goals, including the game-winner, and an assist against Muhlenberg before ending their weekend with a goal versus No. 25 Franklin & Marshall. Gizzie has scored a goal in six of the team's first seven games. They currently lead the conference in points and are tied for the lead in goals scored.

Isphording anchored a Johns Hopkins defense that allowed just one goal in a pair of Centennial Conference victories. The Blue Jays posted a 1-0 shutout of Dickinson as they held the Devils, who entered the game averaging 3.0 goals per game, scoreless. The Jays capped their week with a 4-1 win at Ursinus. In total, JHU allowed one goal and 13 shots in the two games.

Carlsen earned weekly honors for the second time this fall after leading Johns Hopkins in kills (5.00), digs (4.00) and points (5.61) per set in a 3-1 week for the Blue Jays. The junior started her week with a 14-kill, 12-dig effort in a 3-0 sweep over Marymount, following up that performance with another 15 kills and seven digs against Salisbury. Carlsen saved her best for last, setting new career-bests in kills (21) and digs (20) to secure her first career 20-20 game in Hopkins' match against Mount Union, before securing another 20 kills to pair with 17 digs in a 3-0 sweep over Scranton. The Edison, NJ native's season averages of 4.54 kills and 5.27 points per set lead the Centennial Conference and both rank top-10 nationally.
Defensive Player of the Week

Wilmington, Del. | Conrad Schools of Science
Faville averaged 7.42 digs per set in a 2-1 week for the Mules, with the loss coming to top-ranked Juniata. Faville topped the 30-dig mark twice, with 31 in a four-set win at Drew and 34 in a five-set defeat of John Carroll. She also had 10 assists vs. John Carroll for her first career double-double. Faville recorded 24 digs, tying her career high for a three-set match, in the Juniata match. She added four aces, including the 100th of her career, in the three matches.
