All-CC Women's Soccer: JHU's Sullivan Repeats as Offensive Player of the Year

JHU senior becomes fifth player in CC history to win multiple POTY awards

LANCASTER, Pa. -- Johns Hopkins' Katie Sullivan repeated as Offensive Player of the Year to lead the 2024 All-Centennial Conference Women's Soccer Team. JHU's Annie Isphording, Swarthmore's Aminah Evans and the McDaniel coaching staff secured the other major awards.

Sullivan, a senior forward for JHU, earned Offensive Player of the Year laurels for the second straight season. She becomes just the fifth player in CC history - and first since Swarthmore's Marin McCoy in 2017-18 -  to win multiple Player of the Year awards. Sullivan was also named to the All-CC first team for the fourth time, becoming the 11th player in Centennial history to do so. Entering the NCAA Tournament, Sullivan leads the conference in goals (14), assists (7) and points (35) and is tied for third with three game-winning scores.

Isphording, a junior defender for the Blue Jays, was selected as Defensive Player of the Year. Isphording is the first JHU defender to claim player of the year honors since Jessica Hnatiuk in 2009, and the first Blue Jay to win Defensive Player of the Year in the three-year history of the award. Isphording has led a Hopkins defensive unit that has allowed just 14 goals this season for a conference-leading average of 0.70 goals against per game.

Evans, a freshman defender for the Garnet, received Rookie of the Year accolades and was also named to the All-Centennial second team. Evans helped the Swarthmore defense hold its opponents to 0.89 goals per game, which ranks fourth in the conference. A starter for all 18 games this fall, Evans also tallied a goal and an assist and becomes the second straight and fourth overall Garnet player to win the conference's top rookie honor, joining Hannah Lichtenstein (2014), Marin McCoy (2015) and teammate Ava Gizzie (2023).

The McDaniel coaching staff earned Coaching Staff of the Year honors for the second year in a row during Michael Scott's first year at the helm of the program. Scott had been an assistant at McDaniel since 2017 before being elevated to head coach this season. Scott and assistant coaches Kylee Altland and Brian Boussy helped the Green Terror to an 11-4-3 overall record and a 7-1-2 mark in CC play that earned them the No. 2 seed in the CC postseason tournament.

Johns Hopkins led all teams with seven all-conference honorees. McDaniel and Swarthmore earned six all-star sports apiece, while F&M and Haverford each secured five spots on the team.

Fifteen players were repeat picks on the All-Centennial team, including three four-time selections and a pair of three-time honorees. JHU's Sullivan, McDaniel senior midfielder Jessica Weinoldt and Swarthmore senior midfielder Allie Zitelli became four-time all-stars while JHU's Isphording and Swarthmore senior defender Emme Hansard earned all-conference spots for the third time.

Johns Hopkins leads the all-time list of first team all-conference selections with 78. Gettysburg (52) is second, while Swarthmore is third (40) followed by Muhlenberg (34), McDaniel (35), Dickinson (33), Haverford (27), Franklin & Marshall (26), Ursinus (6) and Bryn Mawr (4).
