GETTYSBURG, Pa. -- Johns Hopkins secured a perfect score for the fourth straight season en route to its 17th consecutive Centennial Conference women's cross country title on Saturday at Gettysburg College.
The Blue Jays extended their record CC winning streak with the top six finishers and eight runners in the top 10. The perfect score of 15 was the fourth straight perfect score for JHU and the fifth overall in CC history.
Gettysburg finished in second place for the second year in a row with 85 points. Swarthmore took third with 103 points, followed by Dickinson (126) and Franklin & Marshall (128) in the top five of the team standings.
After finishing as the runner-up last fall, JHU's Carter Brotherton captured the individual title with a time of 21:18.10. Storrie Kulynych-Irvin of Johns Hopkins was close behind in second at 21:23.60, as was defending champion Adriana Catalano in third at 21:26.00. Mia Kotler (4th place, 21:40.60), Eleni Alvarez (5th place, 21:45.30) and Natalie Boquist (6th place, 21:47.20) completed the top-six sweep for Hopkins.
Dickinson's Liza Barbash snapped the Hopkins' streak with a seventh-place finish at 21:48.30 to secure the final All-CC first team honor.
JHU's Elena Blodnikar (21:51.40) and Cooper Brotherton (21:54.00) placed back-to-back in eighth and ninth place, respectively, while Ursinus' Mia Sideris rounded out the top-10 placings with a time of 22:01.80.
F&M's
Katie Scott (22:09.40) and
Tara Silverman (22:11.00) finished in 11th and 12th place, respectively, while JHU's
Aisling Callahan (22:14.80) and
Emma Kothari (22:27.00)
capped off the All-Centennial award winners in 13th and 14th place.
