LANCASTER, Pa. -- Johns Hopkins swept the top honors to lead the 2025 All-Centennial Women's Cross Country Team. Carter Brotherton was named Runner of the Year, Mia Kotler secured Rookie of the Year, and the Blue Jay coaching staff collectred Coaching Staff of the Year honors.
Brotherton captured the individual title at the CC championship last Saturday, becoming the fourth straight Hopkins runner to win the conference crown. Brotherton, who was named Rookie of the Year last fall, has put together a stellar sophomore campaign for the Blue Jays. She twice earned CC Runner of the Week accolades with a fourth-place finish among 271 competitors at the Connecticut College Invitational and a 44th-place finish out of 352 runners at the Paul Short Invitational. Brotherton is the 12th Blue Jay to receive Runner of the Year honors and is just the third runner in CC history to have won both Runner of the Year and Rookie of the Year. She secured first team honors for the second straight season after finishing as the runner-up as a freshman last fall.
Kotler nabbed Rookie of the Year laurels after a fourth-place showing at the CC championship. Kotler recorded four top-10 finishes in her five meets this fall, including a 10th-place finish at the Connecticut College Invitational, a seventh-place finish at the Virginia Invitational and a runner-up finish at the Opening Night Invitational at Georgetown. She earned CC Runner of the Week honors twice throughout the year, matching Brotherton for the most of any conference runner. Kotler is the 12th Hopkins runner to win Rookie of the Year and the 27th freshman in CC history to claim first team all-conference honors with her top-seven finish at the championship.
The JHU coaching staff of head coach Bobby Van Allen and assistants Cullen Doody, Dan Schuman, Nikhil Bagchi and Casey Comber were selected by their peers as Coaching Staff of the Year. It marks the fifth straight coaching honor for Van Allen and his staff. The Blue Jays won their 17th straight CC title and posted their fifth perfect team score in conference history last Saturday.

Six of the seven first team spots were occupied by Hopkins. Along with Brotherton and Kotler, JHU's Storrie Kulynych-Irvin, who finished as the runner-up, earned all-conference accolades for the first time. JHU's Adriana Catalano finished third to become a three-time All-Centennial honoree, and is now the 25th runner in CC history to earn first team honors at least three times in a career. Eleni Alvarez and Natalie Boquist also garnered first team awards for the Blue Jays, as did Dickinson's Liza Barbash.
JHU's Cooper Brotherton received All-Centennial honors for the third time in her career with a second-team placing, while teammate Aisling Callahan earned back-to-back all-conference laurels after landing on the first team last fall. JHU's Elena Blodnikar and Emma Kothari, Ursinus' Mia Sideris and F&M's Katie Scott and Tara Silverman also picked up second team honors for the first time in their careers with top-14 placings at the championship.
