INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Swarthmore's Genine Collins finiished as the national runner-up in the 50 freestyle to lead seven All-America finishes from Centennial Conference swimmers on the opening day of the NCAA Division III Swimming Championships on Wednesday at the IU Natatorium on the campus of IU Indianapolis.

Collins headlined the night with a silver medal in the 50 freestyle with a conference-record time of 22.50, breaking her own mark of 22.69 that she set last month at the CC Championship. She finished behind only NYU's Kaley McIntyre, who touched in 22.45. Collins' runner-up finish marked the fifth time a CC swimmer has finished top-two in an event at the NCAA meet, and first time since 2008. Collins finished third in the event last winter.

Collins later earned another first team All-America honor as part of the seventh-place 400 medley relay team for the Garnet, who finished the finals in 3:44.15 after setting a new Centennial record of 3:43.63 in the morning prelims. Maya Ambardekar, Cara Dominici and Norah Rutkowski joined Collins on the record-breaking relay team.

Five second team All-America awards were earned on day one, three individual and two relays. Swarthmore's Cami Wilson took ninth in the 50 freestyle at 19.90, the second-fastest time in conference history. Ursinus' Caelan Ladd earned her first career All-America award in the 500 freestyle, taking 14thh with a time of 4:56.23. That time ranks third on the all-time CC list.
