Athletes of the Week: Feb. 23-March 1

LANCASTER, Pa. -- Centennial Conference weekly awards have been announced for the week of Feb. 23-March 1 in baseball, softball, lacrosse and tennis. This marks the first weekly awards of the year for softball.

Continue below for the full list of weekly honorees and details about each of their performances.

BASEBALL

Player of the Week
Jacob Harris, Sr., 2B, Johns Hopkins
Grosse Pointe Farms, Mich. | Grosse Pointe South
Harris powered the Blue Jays to a 4-0 week with wins over No. 15 Messiah, Cairn and a pair of victories against Hamilton College. The second baseman went 9-for-16 (.563) over the four-game stretch, posting an absurd 2.025 OPS. He launched four home runs — including two grand slams — added a double, drove in 12 runs, scored 11 times, drew three walks and stole a base. Harris recorded a multi-hit performance in all four games. Against Messiah, he broke the game open with a three-run homer to cap an eight-run first inning. Against Cairn, he smashed a leadoff home run in the bottom of the first. In back-to-back games against Hamilton, the senior delivered grand slams in each contest, putting both games out of reach and halting any comeback attempts.

Pitcher of the Week
Patrick Brady, Fr., RHP, Swarthmore
Dallas, Texas | Jesuit College Prep
Brady dazzled on the mound in just his second career start in game one of a doubleheader versus Cairn. He took a no-hitter into the final frame of the seven-inning contest and finished off a complete-game shutout against the Highlanders. Brady flummoxed the Cairn lineup, not allowing a baserunner until a lead-off walk in the fourth. He hit a batter to begin the fifth and those were his only blemishes through six innings of work. Needing just three more outs to secure a no-hitter, he struck out the lead-off man in the seventh. However, the bid then came to an end on a hard-hit ball to center. Brady shook it off and forced a fly out then a groundball fielder's choice to complete the shutout.
