LANCASTER, Pa. -- Dickinson's Trevor Richwine and Johns Hopkins' Sebastian Tangelson were named Athletes of the Year while JHU's Caleb Tenney and the Hopkins coaching staff also garnered major awards on the 2026 All-Centennial Men's Indoor Track & Field Team.
Richwine was selected as the Track Athlete of the Year following a record-setting regular season and championship meet. During the regular season, Richwine set a new CC indoor 600-meter record (1:20.99) and ran the second leg on the CC-record-breaking 4x400 relay (3:17.12) for the Red Devils. His top time in the 800 of 1:50.30, which he posted at the Bucknell Tune-Up on February 20, ranks second on the all-time CC performance list and fifth in Division III. At the CC championship, he set a new championship record in the 800 (1:52.34) and was also part of the championship record 4x800 relay (7:45.56) and the gold medal 4x400 relay for the Red Devils.
Tangelson was named Field Athlete of the Year after winning five of the seven events in the heptathlon en route to a championship record score of 4,827 points. Tangelson showcased his all-around talents this winter, as he is ranked fourth in the conference in the 60 hurdles and high jump and sixth in the long jump, and ranked 20th in the nation in the heptathlon. His heptathlon total from the CC championship ranks third all-time in conference history.
Tenney was chosen as Rookie of the Year with a record-setting campaign that included the top time ever for a Division III freshman in the 3,000 meters. At the Boston University David Hemery Valentine Invitational on February 13, Tenney posted a time of 8:04.55 in the 3,000, which set a new DIII freshman record, ranks third all-time in the conference and sixth in the nation this season. Tenney also ran a 4:09 in the distance medley relay at the Tufts Invitational as part of the JHU DMR team that ran a 10:01.84, which ranks eighth nationally. He also ran a 3:02 leadoff leg 1,200-meter leg of the DMR at the CC championship en route to silver in the event.
The Johns Hopkins coaching staff was honored by its peers as Coaching Staff of the Year. JHU head coach Bobby Van Allen and assistants Hassaan Stamps, Alex Jebb, Jefferson Butler, Stephanie Colby, Cullen Doody, Dan Schuman, Nikhil Bagchi, Casey Comber, Steven Rivers, Katrina Seymour-Stamps and Grace Hadley guided the Blue Jays to their 13th straight indoor title.
The major awards are voted on by the conference head coaches, while first team, second team and honorable mention honors are awarded based on placings at the Centennial championship meet. Every gold medal individual and relay team earns first team honors, every silver medal individual and relay team earns second team honors, and every bronze medal individual is named to the honorable mention squad.
