Trio of CC Teams Qualify for NCAA Women's Lacrosse Field

F&M, Haverford & Gettysburg earn bids to national postseason tournament

A trio of Centennial Conference women's lacrosse teams have qualified for the NCAA women's lacrosse tournament for the third straight season and fifth time in CC history. CC-champion Franklin & Marshall earned the conference's automatic bid while Haverford and Gettysburg secured at-large spots into the field of 47 teams. 

This marks the fifth season in which three CC teams qualifed for the national tournament. F&M, Haverford and Gettysburg each qualified in 2025, 2024 and 2022, while in 2006 it was F&M, Gettysburg and Dickinson that represented the Centennial in the postseason. 

F&M is headed to Trinity (Conn.) for the opening rounds of the NCAA Tournament. The Diplomats open with a first round game against Neumann on Saturday, May 9 at 1 p.m. and would play the host Bantams on Sunday at 1 p.m. with a victory. 

The Diplomats earned their way into the NCAA Division III Tournament by winning the Centennial Conference Tournament for the fourth consecutive season and securing the conference's automatic qualifying spot. F&M is making its 31st appearance at the NCAA Championships. Saturday's game with Neumann will be the first meeting in program history between the two schools. Neumann (9-8) defeated Marywood for its first-ever Atlantic East Conference Title and NCAA Tournament bid. The Knights won their conference championship by an 18-13 final.

Haverford earned an at-large bid to secure the program's eighth all-time NCAA appearance. The Fords (13-6) will face Endicott (15-4), champions of the Conference of New England (CNE), in a first-round matchup at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 9 at Bello Field on the campus of Tufts in Medford, Mass. Haverford advanced to the Centennial Conference Championship game for the first time in program history, hosting on Swan Field as the No. 1 seed on Sunday. The Fords fell 7-5 to second-seeded Franklin & Marshall. 

Saturday's contest will mark the first-ever meeting between Haverford and Endicott. The Gulls secured their automatic bid with a 17-11 victory over Roger Williams in the CNE Championship. The winner of the opening-round matchup will advance to face host and No. 4-ranked Tufts (14-3) in the second round at 1 p.m. on Sunday. 

Gettysburg will travel to Cambridge, Mass., at MIT for a first- and second-round pod of the 2026 NCAA Division III women's lacrosse tournament, beginning on Saturday. The Bullets (12-6) earned an at-large bid into the field after falling in the Centennial Conference (CC) semifinals on Friday at Franklin & Marshall. Gettysburg is one of 17 at-large teams in the field of 47.

Gettysburg is making its 24th NCAA tournament appearance. The Bullets will play Husson in Saturday's first round at 1 p.m. The winner of that game will play the host Engineers in Sunday's second round at 1 p.m. It will be the first-ever meeting with Husson. It would also be the first-ever meeting between the Gettysburg and MIT.

The 2026 NCAA Division III Women's Lacrosse National Championship is scheduled for Sunday, May 24 at Judson Stadium in Rochester, N.Y.
