Johns Hopkins claimed its 16th consecutive regional championship on Saturday to lead Centennial Conference performances at the Mid-Atlantic and Metro Regionals.
Hopkins, Dickinson, Gettysburg, Franklin & Marshall and McDaniel competed at the Mid-Atlantic Regional in Lock Haven, Pa., while Swarthmore, Ursinus, Haverford, Bryn Mawr and Muhlenberg raced as the Metro Regional in Galloway, N.J.
A total of 21 Centennial runers earned all-region accolades with top-35 finishes in the two regional championships.
GALLOWAY, N.J. -- Swarthmore placed second in the team standings while nine Centennial Conference runners earned all-region honors at the Metro Regional Championship at the North Athletics Complex.
Swarthmore's Olivia Montini was the top CC finisher for the second year in a row, taking ninth place at 22:26.6. The Garnet secured the next three finishes among CC competitors as well, with Ania Wong (10th; 22:30.9), Elizabeth Page (11th; 22:37.1) and Alina Irvine (17th; 23:11.2) all posting top-20 times. Ursinus' Mia Sideris (20th; 23:17.5) and Ryann Wauthier (23rd; 23:21.1) paced the Bears on the all-region team, while Bryn Mawr's Lauren Kitay (25th; 23:22.3), and Haverford's Alice Sappenfield (29th; 23:28) and Anastasia Jaycobs (34th; 23:41.4) also posted all-region finishes in the top 35.
The Garnet totaled 86 points to finish behind only Rowan (81) in the team standings. Haverford finished seventh with 189 points, followed by Bryn Mawr in 10th with 285 points, Ursinus in 13th with 322 points and Muhlenberg in 16th with 421 points.
LOCK HAVEN, Pa. -- Johns Hopkins placed five runners in the top 12 to win the program's 16th consecutive regional championship Saturday afternoon at the Mid-Atlantic Regional hosted by Lock Haven University. In addition to winning Saturday's 6K, all seven Johns Hopkins runners finished in the top 35 to earn all-region honors, marking the 10th time in the last 11 years the Blue Jays have achieved the feat.
A total of 12 CC runners secured all-region laurels at Lock Haven on Saturday. JHU's Emma Puetz led the way with a third-place finish with a time of 21:14.8, with CC-champion Adriana Catalano just behind in fourth at 21:21.1. JHU's Jamie Stelnik (6th; 21:27.0) and Sydney Shock (9th; 21:34.5) also placed in the top 10, while Aisling Callahan (12th; 21:41.10) rounded out the Blue Jays scoring positions.
Dickinson's Madison Garber took 14th at 21:49.9, followed by Gettysburg's Gabrielle Thiry (16th; 21:43.4) and JHU's Triya Roy (19th; 21:56.4) in the top 20. Gettysburg's Ava Crawford (23rd; 22:06.8), JHU's Phoebe White (24th; 22:07.3), Dickinson's Myra Naqvi (31st; 22:13.9) and Gettysburg's Sarah Smith (32nd; 22:19.0) also nabbed all-region honors.
Hopkins (34 points) handily defeated second-place Carnegie Mellon (76) for the team title. Gettysburg took third with 150 points, followed by Dickinson (6th; 241), F&M (12th; 315) and McDaniel (25th; 730) among CC squads.
