LANCASTER, Pa. -- Johns Hopkins swept the top honors to lead the 2024 All-Centennial Women's Cross Country Team. Adriana Catalano was selected as Runner of the Year, Carter Brotherton collected Rookie of the Year and the Blue Jay coaching staff received Coaching Staff of the Year honors.
Catalano won the individual crown at the CC championship last Saturday, the third straight JHU runner to accomplish that feat. Catalano has been one of the top runners for Hopkins all season, headlined by winning the Rowan Border Battle on October 19 followed by the CC title. She is the 11th Blue Jay to be named CC Runner of the Year. Catalano earned her second straight All-CC first team honor, having also finished in seventh place as a sophomore last fall.
Brotherton secured Rookie of the Year accolades following a runner-up finish at the CC championship and a superb regular season campaign for the Blue Jays. The freshman paced the Blue Jays in all three of the regular season meets in which she competed this year before placing just behind Catalano at the conference meet. Brotherton is the 11th JHU runner to claim Rookie of the Year honors in the 12-year history of the award.
The JHU coaching staff of head coach Bobby Van Allen and assistants Cullen Doody, Dan Schuman, Nikhil Bagchi and Casey Comber were honored by their peers as Coaching Staff of the Year. It marks the fourth consecutive coaching honor for Van Allen and his staff. The Blue Jays won their 16th straight CC title and posted their fourth perfect team score in conference history last Saturday.

Joining Catalano and Carter Brotherton on the All-Centennial first team were JHU's Cooper Brotherton, Sydney Shock, Aisling Callahan and Jamie Stelnik along with Swarthmore's Olivia Montini. Montini was also a second team honoree last fall while Cooper Brotherton was a second-teamer back in 2022. Carter Brotherton and Shock became the 25th and 26th freshmen in CC history to secure first team laurels.
Gettysburg's Kathryn Hopkins and Dickinson's Madison Garber repeated as second team all-conference performers. Also landing on the second team with top-14 finishes were Gettysburg's Gabrielle Thiry and Ava Crawford, Swarthmore's Elizabeth Page and Ania Wong, and JHU's Phoebe White.
