NEWVILLE, Pa. -- Johns Hopkins achieved perfection for the third year in a row to capture its 16th straight Centennial Conference women's cross country championship on Saturday at Big Spring High School.
The Blue Jays continued their record CC winning streak with the top five placings and six runners in the top seven en route to a perfect team score of 15 points. It marks the third consecutive and fourth overall perfect team score in the history of the CC, with all four accomplished by JHU in the past six championships.
Gettysburg finished in second place with a score of 62, giving the Bullets their top finish since 1995, when they also took second. Swarthmore placed third with 81 points, followed by Dickinson (126) and Haverford (153) in the top five.
JHU's Adriana Catalano took home the individual crown with a 6k time of 21:57.3, defeating teammate Carter Brotherton (22:05.3) by eight seconds. Catalano is the fourth straight and 12th overall Blue Jays to win the CC individual title. Cooper Brotherton crossed in third place for Hopkins at 22:17.2, while Sydney Shock (22:23.6) and Aisling Callahan (22:23.7) rounded out the perfect team score for the Blue Jays in fourth and fifth place, respectively.
Swarthmore's Olivia Montini stopped the Hopkins' streak with a sixth-place finish at 22:29.9 to earn All-CC first team accolades, while JHU's Jamie Stelnik closed out the first-team honorees at 22:31.9 in seventh place.
Gettysburg's Kathryn Hopkins captured eighth place for the second year in a row at 22:33.8, with teammate Gabrielle Thiry close behind in ninth with a time of 22:36.6. Dickinson's Madison Garber (22:41.7), Swarthmore's Ania Wong (22:45.7), JHU's Phoebe White (22:51.1) and Gettysburg's Ava Crawford (23:03.1) finished in 10th through 14th place to cap off the All-Centennial award winners.
