WESTMINSTER, Md. - Ursinus claimed back-to-back Centennial Conference wrestling titles on Saturday at McDaniel. The Bears totaled 93 points on the strength of two individual titles and five runner-up finishes to win by 23 points. Ursinus now has 13 championships in the 30-year history of the event, eight more than the next-closest team (5 titles from former associate member Stevens). 

McDaniel finished in second place for the second year in a row with 70.5 points, while Muhlenberg took third with 56 points. Merchant Marine (49), Gettysburg (42.5) and Johns Hopkins (26) rounded out the team scores in fourth through sixth, respectively. 

Merchant Marine's Tyler Withers and McDaniel's Thomas Monn were named Co-Most Outstanding Performers following a tie in the voting. Withers secured 16.5 points for the Mariners with a trio of bonus point wins at 184 pounds, featuring a tech fall, pin and major decision. Withers is the third Mariner to claim the honor and first since 2014. Monn shared the MOP award following a 12 point day for the Green Terror en route to the his second straight 149 title. After receiving an opening-round bye, Monn earned two wins by decision to improve to 28-2 on the year. 

McDaniel's Jaedyn Harris (197) won the prestigious Chris Clifford Award, given annually to the senior with the most career points accumlated at the CC championship. Throughout his three championship appearances, Harris compiled 31 career points with two titles (2023 & 2024) and one third-place finish (2022). 

All five defending champions retained their titles with gold medals performances on a day that witnessed few upsets. Repeat individual champions included Muhlenberg's Joey Lamparelli (125), Gettysburg's Luke Kowalski (141), McDaniel's Monn (149) and Harris (197), and Merchant Marine's Reid Garrison (285). 

Winning individual gold for the first time at the CC meet were Muhlenberg's Frank DiEsso (133), McDaniel's Xavier Howard (157), Ursinus' Shawn Marchesano (165) and Sean Cowan (174) and Merchant Marine's Withers (184). 

McDaniel led the way with three individual golds, followed by Muhlenberg (2), Merchant Marine (2), Ursinus (2) and Gettysburg (1). 

Ursinus still leads all Centennial schools with 62 champions since 1994. Muhlenberg and McDaniel are tied for second (51), followed Merchant Marine (36), Stevens (35), Johns Hopkins (28), Gettysburg (27), Washington and Lee (7), Swarthmore (2) and NYU (1).
