Weygandt Repeats as Swimmer of the Year

Garnet junior headlines CC-leading 12 all-conference honorees for Swarthmore

LANCASTER, Pa. -- Swarthmore swept the conference major awards for the second straight season as Quinn WeygandtNorah Rutkowski and the Garnet coaching staff took home top honors on the 2025 All-Centennial Women's Swimming Team. Weygandt was named Swimmer of the Year for the second year in a row, Rutkowski nabbed Rookie of the Year honors and the Swarthmore coaching staff was named Coaching Staff of the Year for the third straight season.

Weygandt secured back-to-back Swimmer of the Year accolades following another standout regular season and Centennial championship meet for the Garnet. The junior three-peated in the 200 IM and 400 IM and repeated in the 200 butterfly, earning Most Outstanding Performer of the meet honors for the second year in a row. She also led off the conference and championship record-settinng 800 freestyle relay and swam the third leg of the winning 400 freestyle relay for the Garnet. Weygandt broke her own conference record in the 400 IM earlier this season, touching in 4:21.64 in a dual meet vs. Ursinus on December 6, 2024. Her 400 IM time ranks seventh on the national performance list, while her 200 IM time is 18th and her 200 butterfly time is 22nd.

Rutkowski was tabbed as Rookie of the Year after emerging as one of the top conference swimmers in the butterfly, breaststroke and individual medley events. At the CC championship, Rutkowski was part of the winning 400 medley relay, finished second in the 100 butterfly with the 10th-best time in Centennial history, and placed fifth in both the 200 IM and 200 breaststroke. This marks the second straight Rookie of the Year award for Swarthmore, with Genine Collins receiving the honor last winter.

The Swarthmore coaching staff was selected by their peers as Coaching Staff of the Year for the third consecutive season. Head coach Karin Colby and assistants Sam Davy, Coulter Morrill, Molly SpanoCharlie Kennedy, Mike Pace and Leisha Shaffer led the Garnet to their fourth straight CC title and another perfect 10-0 dual record, including 7-0 against CC squads. The Garnet are currently ranked eighth in the nation by the College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA).

Gold medalists at the CC championship earn first team All-Centennial honors and silver medalists earn second team All-Centennial honors in both individual events and relays. Individual bronze medalists are named All-Centennial honorable mention. Swarthmore led the All-Centennial team with 12 swimmers earning recognition. Gettysburg was second with 11 All-CC performers, while Franklin & Marshall (2) and Dickinson (1) also secured spots on the all-star squad.
