Swarthmore's Weygandt Three-Peats as Swimmer of the Year

LANCASTER, Pa. -- Swarthmore senior Quinn Weygandt was named Swimmer of the Year for the third straight season to lead the 2026 All-Centennial Women's Swimming Team. Ursinus freshman Caelan Ladd and the Swarthmore coaching staff picked up the other major awards as Rookie of the Year and Coaching Staff of the Year, respectively.

Weygandt three-peated as Swimmer of the Year following another record-setting regular season and Centennial championship meet. She was the only competitor at last weekend's CC meet (women's or men's) to win three individual gold medals (200 IM, 400 IM, 200 fly), breaking one conference record, two championship meet records and recording three NCAA B cut times. Weygandt also contributed to winning 800 freestyle and 400 freestyle relays for the Garnet, with the 400 freestyle relay setting new conference and championship records. She made history by becoming the first swimmer in conference history to sweep the individual medley events in four straight championships, and also won the 200 butterfly for the third year in a row. Weygandt was honored with the Most Outstanding Performer of the meet award for the third straight season, becoming just the third swimmer in CC history to do so. Weygandt's times in the 400 IM (3rd in Division III) and 200 IM (5th in Division III) rank among the top in the nation.

Ladd was selected as Rookie of the Year after being the only freshman to secure a first-place finish at the CC championship, taking gold in the 500 freestyle and silver in the 400 IM and 200 butterfly. Ladd's top 400 IM time is the second-best time in Centennial history, behind only Weygandt's, and ranks 11th in the Division III. Her 500 freestyle time is the fifth-best mark in Centennial history and 23rd nationally.

The Swarthmore coaching staff was selected by their peers as Coaching Staff of the Year for the fourth year in a row. Head coach Karin Colby and assistants Sam Davy, Coulter Morrill, Molly SpanoCharlie Kennedy, Mike Pace and Leisha Shaffer guided the Garnet to their fifth straight CC title and a 9-0 dual record this season, including a 6-0 mark against conference foes.

Gold medalists at the CC championship earn first team All-Centennial honors and silver medalists earn second team All-Centennial honors in both individual events and relays. Individual bronze medalists are named All-Centennial honorable mention. Swarthmore had a conference-best 10 swimmers honored, followed by Johns Hopkins (9), Gettysburg (7), Ursinus (2) and Franklin & Marshall (1).
