Marymount Leads Women's Golf Preseason Poll

LANCASTER, Pa. – Marymount edged defending champion Gettysburg for the top position in the 2026 Centennial Conference Women's Golf Preseason Poll. The Saints received five first-place votes and 35 points to receive the distinction of preseason favorite in a vote among conference head coaches. 

Gettysburg earned the remaining two first-place votes and 32 points to finish second in the poll. Franklin & Marshall was picked third with 26 points, followed by Dickinson (21), McDaniel (16), Muhlenberg (9) and Ursinus (8). 

Most CC teams will open the spring portion of their seasons in mid to late March. The 2026 Centennial Championship returns to Waynesboro Country Club in Waynesboro, Pa. on April 25-26.

Led by a one-two finish from Lucy and Chloe Barton, Gettysburg secured its conference-leading 12th Centennial women's golf title last spring at Waynesboro Country Club. The Bullets posted a two-day score of 668 to earn the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament. Marymount placed second with 689 strokes, followed by Franklin & Marshall (752), McDaniel (792), Dickinson (868), and Ursinus (910). 

The Bullets went on to represent the CC at the NCAA Championship, finishing in 28th place in the field of 34 teams with a 36-hole total of 677 at Kingsmill Resort in Williamsburg, Va. 

Six All-Centennial players return to competition this spring, led by defending individual CC champion Lucy Barton of Gettysburg. Barton took home medalist honors last season with a two-day total of 161, edging twin sister Chloe by two strokes on the individual leaderboard. Lucy and Chloe are both two-time All-CC honorees entering their junior campaigns. Teammate Natalie Boyd is also back as a returning all-star for the Bullets after tying for fourth place last spring. 

Marymount also welcomes back a trio of all-conference performers. Kate Parsons will aim to become a four-time all-star this season, while Noelle Jensen (2023 Player & Rookie of the Year) and Eunice Chang (2025 All-CC) will vie for the second all-conference nods of their careers. 

Marymount holds the top team scoring average heading into the spring at 303.7 through seven rounds, followed by Gettysburg (344.3 through nine rounds) and F&M (354.2 through five rounds).
