F&M Reclaims CC Crown in Record-Breaking Fashion

Dickinson's McMahon-Shea sets individual scoring record

WAYNESBORO, Pa. -- Franklin & Marshall reclaimed the Centennial Conference men's golf championship in record-breaking fashion, leading wire-to-wire at Waynesboro Country Club. The Diplomats posted a score of 853 (-11) throughout the 54-hole event to win by 10 strokes and set a new CC championship scoring record. 

Dickinson placed second at 863 (-1), followed by McDaniel (865), Gettysburg (872) and Swarthmore (887) in the top five. Ursinus (968) took sixth while Muhlenberg (982) and Washington College (1,015) rounded out the teams scores. 

The Diplomats have now captured a conference-best 15 CC titles, including 10 of the last 12. This one produced a new championship record score, topping the previous best of 859 set by F&M in 2022 at Hershey Country Club. Max Silverman led the way for the Diplomats with a three-day total of 211 (-5), while Jake Kurtzman (214; -2) Wayne He (215; E) and Oliver Clark (216; E) tied for eighth place. Kurtzman's 67 (-5) on Sunday was the low round of the tournament. 

Dickinson's Collin McMahon-Shea became the second Red Devil to win the individual title, setting a new Centennial record with a 54-hole score of 208 (-8). The senior opened play with a 68 (-4) on Friday, shot 72 (E) on Saturday and fired another 68 (-4) on Sunday to win by two strokes over Gettysburg's Patrick Kilcoyne (210; -6), the 2025 champion, and Charlie Dolan (210; -6), the 2025 runner-up. The other Dickinson player to win medalist honors was Tucker Joyce in 2009. 

Dickinson's Will Griffith placed fifth at 212 (-4), while Swarthmore's Phelps Wang (215; -1) also shot under par for the tournament to take seventh. Nine players in the 39-player field shot even par or better. 

With the victory, the Diplomats earn the CC's automatic bid to the NCAA Championship at Mission Resort + Club in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla. from May 12-15.
