McMahon-Shea Advances in NCAA Championship; Diplomats Finish Tied for 27th

HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. - Dickinson's Collin McMahon-Shea made the cut at the NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championship while Franklin & Marshall finished in a tied for 27th following round two on Wednesday at Mission Inn Resort and Club. 

Competing as an individual, McMahon-Shea fired off rounds of 70 (-1) and 73 (+1) to record a 36-hole total of 143 and make it past the cut line as one of six individuals in the field to do so. On Tuesday, McMahon-Shea played the 6,820-yard par 71 Las Colinas course at one-under 70. On Wednesday, he carded a one-over 73 at the 6,778-yard par 72 El Campeon course. He is tied for 17th place and seven shots back of the individual leader heading into round three. 

On the team side, F&M made a strong push on day two, shooting six-over par to bring its team score to 35-over par, tying for 27th in the field. However, F&M finished short of the cut line at 26-over par.

David McNamara led F&M in round two as he recorded seven birdies and six pars to shoot a 71, ending the tournament eight-over par and in a tie for 103rd. Oliver Clark finished his tournament carding three birdies and 12 pars to shoot a 72 on day two, ending the day tied for 61st with a five-over par score. Max Silverman registered three birdies and 11 pars for a 74 as he tied for 155th with a 13-over par. Wayne He totaled two birdies and 12 pars to shoot a 76, ending the championship with a 12-over par and tying for 144th. Jake Kurtzman fired two birdies and 10 pars on day two to record a 76, bringing his tournament score to 14-over par and tie for 164th in the individual standings.
