CC Field Hockey Seeds Set

JHU earns top seed, F&M secures other first round bye

Franklin & Marshall (15-3, 8-2 CC) topped Swarthmore 2-1 to secure the No. 2 seed and an opening-round bye in the marquee matchup on the final day of the Centennial Conference field hockey regular season on Saturday. The Garnet (10-8, 7-3 CC) slipped to the No. 4 seed following the defeat and will host fifth-seeded Haverford (13-5, 6-4 CC) in Tuesday's first round. 

Johns Hopkins (17-1, 10-0 CC) had already clinched the top seed and completed a perfect CC regular season with a 6-0 triumph over Muhlenberg. The Blue Jays will host one of Thursday's semifinal matchups, as will F&M. JHU will host the lower seeded first round winner in Thursday's semifinals in Baltimore while the Diplomats will welcome the higher seeded first round winner to Lancaster. his marks the sixth straight year in which JHU has secured the top seed in the CC postseason. 

Dickinson (16-2, 8-2 CC) capped off its impressive regular season with a 3-0 win over Washington College, locking up the No. 3 seed in the process. The Red Devils will host sixth-seeded Ursinus (9-8, 5-5 CC) in Tuesday's other first round tilt. The Bears, who were already locked into the No. 6 seed entering Saturday's action, toppled McDaniel 2-0 on the road to close out the regular season.
